Geetha Govindam is an upcoming Indian Telugu romantic comedy film directed by Parasuram, produced by Bunny Vas under the banner of GA2 pictures. It stars Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. It is scheduled to release on 15 August 2018. Arjun Reddy fame, 'Vijay' is back with 'Geetha Govindam' this time. Vijay Devarkonda became an overnight sensation with Arjun Reddy, so he is trying his level best to cash all the craze which he gained through Arjun Reddy, he has signed numerous projects like ' Nota', 'Rowdy' etc & has been promoting the most expensive dotis titled as 'Rowdy Lungi' , then he has even sung a song in this film which garnered tremendous response (whether it's good or bad we are gonna judge)!! 'Chalo' fame 'Rashmika' has been selected as the heroin.
Music of the film was composed by Gopi Sunder and the audio was released through Aditya Music label. The first song "Inkem Inkem Inkem Kaavaale" was released on 10 July 2018. Film's unit had a audio release on July 29,2018 with 'stylish star' "Allu Arjun" as the cheif guest.
01. Inkem Inkem Kavale
Singers: Sid Sriram
Backing Vocals: Divya S Menon & Gopi Sundar
Lyricist: Anantha Sriram
Rating: 4/5
This was the first song released on 10 July & topped the charts & ruled all the playlists of youth. Gopi Sundar who has become a regular composer in Telugu now'a'days is trying something new with all the albums. This song is a cult classical melody in my opinion. The way its composed, written & sung is jaw dropping. That chorus in the beginning 'Thatikita Thagajanu' is too beautifully mastered by Gopi with ample support from that backing vocalist. Anantha Sriram, wrote some praise worthy lyrics which are spoken by the tune, b'coz lyrics were'nt extraordinary, tune is superb & it elevated the lyric, that's it. As I always tell, lyrics are inconsistent. They are too good at places, below average at places!!
Coming to the vocalist, Sid Sriram does justice to a Telugu song after many attempts. His voice is magical for sure, but the thing is his accent matters alot. His previous hits in Gopi's collaboration like 'Adiga Adiga' were rage hits, but failed to garner hearts of music lovers with his foul accent. But now, he has improved alot, sung too beautifully, I mean he rocked it. But song has too be little bit more expressive. He has just sung it in terms of music, but lyrics too matter, but it's no where a issue with the contemporary gen, coz they loved it actually. Overall, did I like it- No!! b'coz I loved it.

02. What The Life?
Singers: Vijay Devarakonda
Lyricist: Srimani
Rating: 3/5
This is the second song which is sung by our own 'Vijay Devarakonda', before its release it garnered too much hype, that they expected too much from him & ultimately got disappointed after its release. Vijay was taken by shock, when their were trolls on him by his own fans regarding the bad rendition of this song. Many complained about the bad voice & inappropriate lyrics by Srimani. Before something bad could have happened, the film's unit decided to delete this song & change its lyrics. I think that is the most ingenious stimuli. Before talking more about the controversy, lets review it first. As many people are speaking, this is'nt that bad song!! It starts with voice over of SPB's old song from 'Swathi Muthyam'- 'Chinnari Ponnari Kittayya' then Vijay starts singing, which is'nt that bad, of which people are speaking. Yes his voice is harsh, not suiting to a tune, but it does'nt mean that he has'nt done well. His singing is rhythmic & energetic, which is enough to embrace his fans. Might be people expected a rendition like that of 'Powerstar' Pawan Kalyan, but its not always possible by a non-singer. So lets stop comparing, just hear it as a song that's it. Gopi brought a good party tune, which is foot tapping & Vijay's rendition made it sound frustrated, which is what needed. However, auto tuner covered all the flaws, overall a well made song.
CONTROVERSY: Coming to the controversy or trolls, Vijay's rendition should'nt be the point b'coz, the other point is Srimani's lyrics. In the first song 'What the F?', what has Srimani written!! Can somebody parody epics & holy or sacred books for the sake of entertainment? Is it justified? I don't understand what's wrong with Srimani, why he has brought some odd comparisons which disparage & insult our culture & tradition. What so ever he shouldn't have written like that. Right thing is film's unit acted quickly & brought in a change of lyrics. Thank God, they atleast did that!!

03. Yenti Yenti
Singer: Chinmayi
Backing Vocals: Gopi Sundar
Lyricist: Srimani
Rating: 3/5
This is a romantic female solo. Gopi's instrumentation & tune is as usually unique & fresh. He always tries to justify his tunes with some uber cool instrumentation. Tune is too good & amazing. Those keyboard notes as prelude rocked the song, then joined some electronic guitars with heavy noise which too surprisingly hit the right chord, then Gopi fused few surgums recited by him in b/w the song or in the interludes. Srimani played safe this time, lyrics aren't that excellent or that bad. Coming to vocals, Chinmayi ruined the song, she took away the soul of the song, she sang everything in falsetto or crooned the lower octave notes with immature modulation. That part 'yenti yenti' not again, too bad!! Why she sang it in that squeaky & false tone, she should know, whether it is her improvisation or music director's, it sounded dumb!! At last, did I like the song, Yes!! only the tune. Will I recommend it to you, partially yes!! with lot of limitations.
04. Kanureppala Kaalamlone
Singers: Gopi Sundar
Backing Vocals: Sreepriya Menon
Lyricist: Sagar
Rating: 3/5
A melancholic song which is again unique in terms of tune & instrumentation. Couple of thumba beats sum up to the instrumentation with a humming the female vocalist 'Sreepriya'. Tune is good & lyrics are extraordinary. Sagar wrote this!! it's astonishing, I mean he did a wonderful job. Like his brother DSP, now Sagar turning up as lyricist, seems good & he got a chance in some other movie other than from his routine DSP's albums. Everything sounded fine except Gopi's singing. He ruined it this time, inspite of auto-tuner he sounded terrible & dumb. He would have given it someone else.
05. Vachindamma
Singer: Sid Sriram
Backing Vocals: Divya S Menon, Nimya, Ajay Satyan, Midhun, Krishnalal & Nikhil Mathews
Lyricist: Srimani
Rating: 5/5
A situational wedding song. Composed-written & sung very effectively. Gopi made it sound amazing, his kolatam beats, shehnayi, nadaswaram, tabla, flute everything rocked. Loved this stuff. Sid Sriram isn't that comfortable at the beginning, but picked up gradually, such that he started at 0 resulting at 100. Felt like hearing to a telugu song from Kerala's talent & flavor. Sid Sriram sounded cherubic, he brought in that innocence & youthful exuberance. Though this is not the place where he belongs to, but however sounded good. Srimani's lyrics are brilliant. Chorus too stood as a highlight.
