Fashion Designer S/O Ladies Tailor Audio Review- Telugu
Movie: Fashion Designer S/O Ladies Tailor (2017)
Director: Vamsy
Cast: Sumanth Ashwin , Anisha Ambrose & Manasa Himavarsha
Music: Manisharma
Vamsy is one of the very few filmmakers in Telugu who tries to depict the nativity of the concerned story. Although he is well known for portraying the scenic beauty of Godavari and surrounding regions, the element of characterisation is the highlight in his films. We know what his magic created in past. His films like Sitara, Chettu Kinda Pleader, Ladies Tailor, W/O Varaprasad, April 1 Vidudala, Aalapana, Anumanaspadam etc have shown his power as a director. His films always deal with Telugu nativity, comedy and drama.
In 1985 Vamsy has created Ladies Tailor which was block buster starring Rajendra Prasad and Archana with chartbuster songs composed by Ilayaraja. Now he is back with the sequel of that film Fashion Designer S/O Ladies Tailor, hope the success continues. Now Vamsy has chosen Manisharma to compose music for this film. As we discussed earlier Mani is getting less chances now's'days, seems to be a false saying, because he has composed music to 2 films last year- Gentleman and Siddhartha. How ever Siddhartha has went unnoticed. Now Mani has 7 projects filming under his composition, and there must be no hindrance in saying "Mani is back". We know what Mani is when he comes to music, he is no less then legendary music directors like Ilayaraja, Keeravani, Koti and Rahman.
Mani has composed 5 tracks to the film with different lyricist. Lets see what they have done to the music.
01. Paapi Kondallo
Singers: Sri Krishna & Geetha Madhuri
Lyrics: Chaitanya Prasad
Rating: 4/5
The first song opens to both Vamsy's and Mani's style. The lyrics provided by Baahubali fame lyricist Chaitanya Prasad, include the nativity of Telugu describing the Papi Kondalu landscapes and other expressions in the songs. Vamsy's songs have nothing to do much in the film, all his songs have comedy as the situation mixed with beautiful pure melodies right from Ladies tailor till today. Same happens here, to Mani's beautiful composition, Chaitanya's(vamsy Influenzed) lyrics are added. At the beginning of the song the song sounds fresh, then joins Geetha with a strange rendering of some folk mixed lines, is it "Pulpu Thaadu, balpu thaadu"? she should only no. It is "Dunnapotu" not "Dhunnapothu". Immediatley she changes her genre and singing a soft melody where she does'nt fit to the tee. She sounds too husky and false. Sri Krishna was the only saving grace at vocals. We cannot say the song to be out dated nor fresh, coz it has both, the lyrics have a touch of 80's era and the instrumentation is fresh and beaten in hi-tech form. But somehow appeals to Telugu nativity lovers.
02. Ravi Varma Chitrama
Singers: Sri Krishna & Harini Ivaturi
Lyrics: Chaitanya Prasad
Rating: 3.5/5
The second song composed in Vamsy's style with Mani's signature. Right from instrumentation to lyrics depict Vamsy's signature all over the song. Any beautiful girl, will always be campared to Baapu gari bomma or Ravi varma chitrama. The lyric has no consistency, it starts with Ravi Varma Chitram goes somewhere and comes back, the phrases "atharu teesukosta oo uthara, bithara chupu choostu chedakotaku naa nidara", "takkari kodigitta pettakura nannu tondara, thakunna chudakatta eda chappudu mogindi raa" etc have indirect romantic thoughts , which is also a old styled lyric which we may find in all Vamsy's movies. Sri Krishna and Harini Ivaturi(Paadutha teyyaga singer) make the song sound sweet and soothing. But Sri Krishna surprisingly makes a mistake while saying "Konasaagidamu" instead of "Kona Saagiddaamu", very minute thing but need to say. Overall leaves the people in pure old past memory.
03. Anveshana
Singers: Dinaker & Malavika
Lyrics: Sree Valli
Rating: 4/5
Third song is a romantic duet. Goes with Vamsy's style again, reminding all those gold olden days, where Ilayaraja used to deliver a whole album with one genre- The pure melodies. Vamsy always asks for pure melodies placing them in odd situations with all those odd pictuarisation. We dont know what he has done to this song, lets wait and watch. Vocals feature Dinaker and Malavika, doing their best. Mani has given good instrumentation, Sree valli's lyrics are purely reflecting the thoughts and styles of Vamsy. A pretty melody which goes out dated though we have fresh instrumentation and new tune.
04. Meghale Thele Naa Lona
Singers: Sai Charan, Geetha Madhuri & Sahithi
Lyrics: Sri Mani
Rating: 3.5/5
A melody induced in comedy genre. These type of songs are nothing new in Vamsy's films. The song opens with horse stapping sounds, followed by telephone ringing and buzz and noise of people etc etc. This song brings out the sounds of fights, water droplets, sensous sounds etc.It reminds us the song in April 1 Vidudala "Chukkalu Themanna" & "Maatante Maatenanta" composed by Raja and sung by SPB-Chitra-Mano. They also include all those sounds, comical lyrics, wierd expressions induced in pure Raja's melody. Same happens here, those sounds, expressions injected into Mani's melody. How ever this songs sounds awkward, with rendition of "Devudo devuda" by Geetha, and that sensous expressions "abha..aha" given by Sahithi and Charan sound awkward. Telephone and fight sounds are other 2 disturbances in this song. At last too many cooks spoil the food, same happened here.
05. Kanulemito
Singers: Anurag Kulkarni & Amrutha Varshini
Lyrics: Sri Mani
Rating: 5/5
A good romantic melody. This is again the same situation like in Anumanaspadam where the song "Prathi Dinam Nee Darshanam" composed by Raja and sung by Shreya Ghoshal-Unnikrishnan is used. The song sounds stupendous but Vamsy has used it in a situation where item dancer meets heroin. At least this songs should'nt be wasted like that. Mani has given an excellent melody sung and written out standingly by Anurag-Amrutha and Srimani respectively. Here we find lot of Mani's styles, like he always uses those chorus sounds "ooh, uuhh, ahye" etc all over the sound.
