'Manchu Kurise Velalao' is an upcoming 2018 Telugu langauge film starring debuatants 'Ram Karthik' & 'Pranali Ghogre' & directed by 'Bala Bodepudi' under the banner 'Pranathi'.Music is composed by Shravan Bharadwaj.

This 'Malli Raava' fame music composer has been roped as music director. 'Malli Raava' featured some vibrant melodies, which brought me here. Due to lack of time, I could'nt review that album but did'nt wanted to miss this chance to review this album. All the lyrics are penned by Wasishta Sharma & Bhaskarabhatla.

The title of this film has been picked from an old Ilayairaaja's melody 'Manchu Kurise Velalo' sung by S.Janaki & SPB in 1988 from the film 'Abhinandana'. Don't know what's the connection with that song & this film, but it gained lot of heed. Coming to music, who initially started with 'Malli Raava' cover has worked for 8-9 films, but only 4 of them could hit the screens. Shravan is one such contemporary music composers who strives to restore that melodious part of music. His compositions are usually melodious with lot of coeval ting. So, lets see now, what he has done to this.

01. Manchu Kurise Vela

Vocalists: Vedala Hemachandra & Sabhia
Lyricist: Wasishta Sharma
Rating: 3/5

This is the melodious title song composed with that present day ting as usually. Shravan ensures that his melodious part is not lost in the song. This too picks slowly with the second attempt. They'll be uber cool like that of Vivek Sagar tunes. Instrumentation is too fine, a neat flute note with some percussion sums up to the orchestration. Lyrics by Sharma are absolutely fine. Listening to Hemachandra is really great. He spell his magical cast as usually. But problem lies with that autotuner & female lead singer. Don't know what's that fascination over using autotuner, is it that autotuner which solely gives that coeval affect? Probably no, tune should have that intensity.Overall a neat song.

02. Aanandam

Vocalists: Anudeep Device
Lyricist: Wasishta Sharma
Rating: 3/5

One more male solo, with same melodious cover. Shravan will'nt deviate from his template, almost all his songs appear similar in terms of tuning & instrumentation, but the thing which is commendable is he uses voices of our young Telugu talent, which is'nt given that due recognition. Lyrics are once again fine. Anudeep did a fare job.

03. Yevaru Neevevaruani

Vocalists: Sri Krishna
Lyricists: Wasishta Sharma
Rating: 4/5

This is one more romantic male solo. Here too we will listen to that same contemporary instrumentation , auto tuned vocals yet this is too good. Don't know who sang that humming in b/w but it sounded sonorous whenever it came. It's nice to listen to Sri Krishna again, he simply nailed it. Overall a cool romantic melody.

04. Kanneere

Vocalists: Harini Ivanturi
Lyricist: Bhaskara Bhatla
Rating: 3.5/5

This is a melancholic female song, which has become sparse in present day films. Shravan has brought a routine tune, which will'nt click that easily yet he did'nt deviate from his template, melodious music, autotuner & thumping instrumentation. But after looping we will eventually like this too. Bhaskara Bhatla is amazing, I don't know why he will be given to write only mass songs when he can ace the other genres this perfectly. It's sad that people underrate his brilliance. Hope in future he gets to write more & more like this song. Harini is of no use in this song, she sounded soft & dumb with no expression at all. Shreya Ghoshal or Sunitha would be the best choice for this song. Overall a decent song.

05. Just Do It

Vocalists: Sricharan
Lyricist: Wasishta Sharma
Rating: 2/5

A routine peppy song with Shravan's template as usually. We can speak nothing more on this, might be it works with visuals. This appears like that intro song of hero. Lyrics & tune both are below par. Sricharan is fine with his limitations. Overall, a an average dull song. Will I recommend it to you, may be partially yes, with reservations.

06. Aakasham

Vocalists: K.S.Chitra
Lyricists: Wasishta Sharma
Rating: 4/5

Coming to the album's last & best song 'Aakasham Nuvvu' is perfect & amazing. Shravan showcases his prowess here, instrumentation is simply brilliant. Lyrics too are sublime. Though we listen to that routine elemnts of Shravan this song clicks on. Bringing in Chitra, is a plus for this song, she knows very well how to elevate this kinds with her ethereal voice & spell bounding expressions. But usage of auto tuner did'nt gel that well with her voice, it made the song lose it's flavor, at times Chitra's voice sounded more powerful & great than that auto tuner. I don't understand why should they use it for Chitra, when she is a perfectionist. Overall, a great song, sung brilliantly by that legend.

Picks Of The Album: Aakasham, Yevaru Neevevaruani & Kanneere

OVERALL RATING: 6.5/10
