Chirattan Bhatt has composed music for this film, lets see how he has fared the songs.
1. Atu Itu Ani Chitikelu
Singers: Abhay Jodhpurkar & Shreya Ghoshal
Rating: 4/5
The first track is set completely in a beautiful war romantic mood depicting and evoking the imagination of france, the war scenes , the old english culture etc. Such was the feel listening to the music. Chiratan Bhatt being alien to telugu musical industry, composes it to the mark. When it comes to something new/experimentation in films, the directors usually choose Seetharama Sastry to write the lyrics and he nails it perfectly, who else can have such knowledge or grip on language. The choice of singers is obviously of Bhatt, Abhay was fine but had many issues in singing telugu like he says "zade leni alazadi edho" instead of "sade leni alajadi edo", and many more. It has been known that Abhay has recorded the song in Bhatt's friend house and Chiratan left it intact after listening to Abhay's vocals. It was too sweet listening to Abhay. Later Shreya, did'nt sound like her, she was completely crooning the song with no proper diction nor expression. As usual most of her songs have pronounciation issues and here repeats the same, "Alajadi" became "Alazadi", is they are not pronounced properly it loosens the feel of telugu nativity when the lyric is a treat. It is composed in Natabhairavi ragam, and seems good to listen to that instrumentation of tabala, english violen etc. Full credits to Bhatt and Sastry garu.
2. Ooru Eerayindi Eeru Horettindi
Singers: Shankar Mahadevan & Chorus
Rating: 4.5/5
The second song is a energetic song which comes in situation when hero meets his villagers and graces a occasion in the village. The song has heavy usage of drums, tabala, mild flute and Shehanayi which is pleasant to listen. Vocals provided by Shankar Mahadevan are really treat to listen, we know what Shankar Mahadevan is when he comes to singing, he has been singing from past 2 decades in telugu and yet has to get his due. I guess after SPB it would be Shankar Mahadevan who has complete potential to sing any song in the required manner with right amount of expression. Let him sing more and more songs and entertain the audience. The chorus by female was dull, next the voice changed after first interlude, guess its not Shankar. Seetharama Sastry's lyric always traps our heart, what would be the magic in his hand, we dont know but it never fails to steel our hearts. The phrases "Vajrala Vadagallu sirijallai kuravala ee tarangam ade kerintala lona", "ee panche ki aa panche ki ee kanchelunna jarapala ee jatara", only seetharama sastry's things. Love you sir.
3. Nijamenani Nammani
Singers: Shreya Ghoshal
Additional Vocals: Nandini Srikar
Rating: 5/5
A slow melancholic song. Excellently composed by Chiratan Bhatt. He used tabala all over the song to catch the feel. He uses rich violens as interludes to make the song sound fresh and not boring as it is too slow at its pace. Chiratan completely proves what he can do to telugu music. Seetharama Sastry can only write these songs, who else can? the phrases "Gata janmalanni maru janmalanni ee janma gane maarani ee jantalone chuudani" sounds outstanding. The second interlude has a high pitched alap of Nandini srikar which sounds great. The female vocalist Shreya Ghoshal is the true winner, what a singing? what a voice? what a n expression? mam take a bow. She proves now why she has been piled up with bundle of chances in almost every film in south-India. This song is composed in Charukesi raga.
4. Bhaga Bhagamani
Singers: Vijay Prakasah & Chorus
Rating: 4.5/5
A song throwing fumes of anger into the air. Superb composition by Chiratan Bhatt. The chorus chanting "Om Juptswa" was amazing. Sirivennala is king in these type of songs, he nails it compeletly, the very first line "bhaga bhagamani egasina mantalu ee shanti kosamo?" proves his versatility in writing lyrics. Vijay Prakash was fine , but he could'nt express well nor has some lyrical issues like he says "olu" instead of "Vollu". SPB or Shankar might be correct choice for these kind of songs, but Vijay was also great. It is composed in Kamavardhani raga.
5. Raa Mundadugu Veddam
Singers: Vijay Prakash, Heerthi Sagathia & Chorus
Rating: 5/5
This is another song releasing fumes of air into air depicting the scenes of war with the music itself. Chiratan has been got full marks for scoring this album which can be composed no way better. Again lyrics by Seetharam sastry are amazing, the lines "vidvesham paalinche desham untunda?", "andariki sontham andala lokam kondarike unda ponde adhikaram, matti thoti chuttarikam maripinche vairam gurtustunda manishi thoti manishi ki bhandam", "ee kalyanam kosam intati kallolam" proves why he is a legend. Vijay Prakash was amazing, no way he needs to better. The melancholic alap by Heerthi was good, chorus was good, every thing was perfect. A song lasting 6:47 minutes is really long and treat to listen. This song is composed both in Charukesi & Kamavardhani ragas.
6. Love Is War
Instrumental
Rating: 5/5
An instrumental piece lasting 3 minutes is a treasure to listen. Really describes the title "Love Is War" with the music, it sounds amazing. Bhatt uses heavy violens, drums, keyboard etc to make richer and sound cautious giving the feel as if we are in a war.
