Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam- Telugu Audio Review

Movie: Raarandoi Veduka Chuddam (2017)

Director: Kalyana Krishna Kurasala

Cast: Naga Chaitanya & Rakul Preeth Singh

Music: Devi Sri Prasad

Producers: Akkineni Nagarjuna

Naga Chaitanya is back after a big disaster "Saahasam Swasaga Saagipo" inspite of heavy names on the inlay board like "Gautham Menon's" direction, ARR's music,  "Seetharama Sastry" and "Anantha Sriram" for lyrics, this might suit to the saying "Too many cooks spoil the food". But now Chaitanya is back with a commercial film produced under their own banner Annapurna Studious.

Now lets see what this film has brought in front our eyes. Raarandoi Veduka Chuddam, the title sounds good and it proves that it would be a complete family entertainer. It seems too better when a film is going to be released depicting our own Telugu cultures and traditions. And the music is provided by lead music director in Telugu Film Industry, DSP. DSP must be really lucky enough for grabbing en-numerous chances every year right from his beginning of his career. It has been more than 17 years since DSP entered into industry, but yet he is the top music director with hand full of chances every year. It is his 4rth film in this year and yet has signed to another 6 projects. Hope his success continues more and more. This might be DSP's third collabration with Chaitanya after Dhada & 100% love.

This Film is also following the latest trend in industry that is pre-release of songs. They have been releasing one song for every two to three days via twitter or social media. DSP uses yester films singers and few other singers. Ramjogayya Sastry and Srimani are only the 2 lyricists found in almost every film and even same here. Lets see what they have sone to this songs. The film is set to release on 26th May, worldwide, let it be a huge success and give good performance at box-office.

1. Raarandoi Veduka Chuddam

Singers: Ranjith, Gopika Poornima & Chorus
Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry
Rating: 3/5

The first song opens with full of fuzz and noise then followed by band bhaja beats and then comes a Shehnai with a pleasant surprise. "Shehnai in latest films?", sounds good, any marriage function is incomplete with those band bhaja beats, drums, tabala and Shehnai and same happens here. DSP uses all those instruments to catch the situation. Its really a fresh peppy song which might trend in almost all the marriages in future. Coming to lyrics RJS is again in his own style, starts first stanza with describing the bride and groom as Rama and Seetha and then starts writing all things almost out of anyone imagination, like navveddam, paadeddam etc. Only the first stanza stands good rest all is filled with few telugu words to the tune. Then to the vocals, is it really Gopika singing? she sounds like Sunitha, so nasal, and I guess she forgot telugu, because even she made numerous issues with pronounciation like those other state singers, even Ranjith was same like gopika sounded so frail energyless. There are number of issues in singing like she says "Akshitalu" instead of "Akshintalu" and she says "Kaalam kommu pai" instead of " Komma pai" and both together say "Novvedam" instaed of "Navveddam" and many more. Though DSP bought some thing fresh and new with the tune, singers and lyricists took away the feel. And the song loses its form after the first stanza and gets into a different tempo some classical notes etc which just loosens the interest of listeners. DSP would have chosen better singers to this song.

2. Neevente Nenunte

Singers: Kapil & Shwetha Mohan
Lyrics: Srimani
Rating: 3/5

A routine song in Devi's trademark tune. Nothing new about this song, it is a routine youthful melody. There was a sound of thumba beaten for couple of times all through out the song, and nothing sounds fresh. Now'a'days in almost all the films we hear this kind of lite hearted melodies which are just enjoyable in theaters or journeys. Srimani tried to excel at lyrical part but he could'nt give an extreme satisfactory feel. But his lyrics were quiet enjoyable. Kapil ( the Nenu Local fame singer) made his second song again in DSP's album, DSP has a habit of repeating the singers for two films continuously and then shifts to others. Kapil was fine and made the song enjoyable. Then joins Shwetha Mohan  in the second stanza limited to very few lines. She sounds like her mother Sujatha in old films, however she even tries to express like Shreya Ghoshal but she can never express like her. Shwetha includes malayalam accent in this song, when she says "Naa Rajakumarudu, rangula, Hridyam" its clearly audible, she sounds "Rrrraa" instead of "Ra". However its a very minute thing. overall this song was better than previous one (singing and lyrical wise).

3. Bramarambha Ki Nachesanu

Singer: Sagar
Lyrics: Srimani
Rating: 2.5/5

One more DSP's routine trademark tune. Is there any DSP's album without Sagar singing atleast one song? Probably not. And I always think why does'nt Sagar get chances to sing in any other composers film? He sounds good, his expression is good. Sagar is preferable to other singers from other states who cannot express well. In my opinion lyric and expression comes first than to voice. Though they dont have good voice, if they are able express well its good enough to give them a chance. Sagar always tries to elavate the song with his expression like SPB, but the only drawback would be his voice, but that can be overlooked atleat for his good expressive renditions. The lyric written by Srimani is too poor in quality, because he writes "Water pai walking nenu, rainbow lo swimming nenu, speaking nenu, chating nenu, eating nenu " etc etc. He includes one telugu word and one english word, how irritating it is to listen,so if Srimani himself writes like this , what bothers if you or I write the lyric. Again the word "hey jajjanaka brahmarambha ki nachessanu " was too wierd. Sailaja, sridevi, shyamala completed and now its turn of brahmarambha, dont how many these kind of songs will be made and how many we should yet listen. And one more minus is DSP's folk beats as background which in total spoil the song. 2.5 is just only credited for Sagar.

4. Break Up

Singers: Simha & Dhanunjay
Lyrics: Srimani
Rating: 4/5

A song which is in pathos mood, but celebrating the situation. Srimani has brought a new concept of celebrating the brake up instead of feeling sad. He shows huge variations with his lyric, "Break up ante pandage bro", "bangala dumpalatho modaletti akhariki bangala katam temantaru bro" and too many other crazy phrases. A song written completely in favour of break up boys. Lyric has some crazy feelings, where as DSP has given the apt music to the situation, through the music we can guess it would be party song after break up with heroin. The vocals provided by Simha and Dhanunjay were quiet good. They presented it neatly, Dhanunjay was bit better than Simha. Simha says "peg lo na vele pedite" instead of "plug lona". The portion where Dhanunjay sings "seetha, geetha, sujatha, nithya etc etc" saying all names of girls was very good and sounded amazing. Overall this song was far better than any others above.

5. Thakita Thakajam

Singer: Javid Ali
Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry
Rating: 4.5/5

A situational pathos. DSP is good at these type of songs and nails it perfectly. He uses tabala, a solo violen and everything to make the song sound emotional and situational. DSP always grabs the chance and never wastes it when it comes to melody. This was a good melancholic melody, effectively written by RJS, but however again he revolves around some other world rather than writing what is required, this is nothing new to him. The first line itself is out of our imagination, "Thakita thakajam palikene naa gundelo, eedu rangula prema khanijam merisene naa gundelo"??..out of space, we cannot understand what RJs tries to say, one more place in first stanza "tummedalu tega kolla gotti tene dachina pedavule", nobody knows what he wants to say. And I was taken by surprise when Javid ali sang this genre, when I saw his name on inlay board I thought it would be a mass song, but to the contrast he sang this genre. He was quiet good, neat soothing but somehow had issues in lyrics like "chappudayye gunde k ha ala vatu aa ppa vvee" what he sings, there is no clarity at all. "Kalla gantalu gattina naa addduggu nuve", is it the way to pronounce? and he says "nuvvelene nenante" instead of "nuvve le nenante". What does the music director and lyricist will do at the time of recording when singers are blabbing. Dont they want their song to be a hit? But this was good song, the solo violen was highlight of the song.

6. Thakita Thakajam (Rock)

Singer: Javid Ali
Lyrics: Ramajoggayya Sastry
Rating: 4.5/5

This is the same song presented above, but with a contrast in instrumentation. RJS changed the lyric I guess, the charanams are different. This lyric was good, no extra thoughts, but neatly written. DSP gave two songs, may be to make youth attracted to this version, the instrumentation was dark, steep with heavy usage of electronic guitar and drums and also flute in second interlude. This was a bit fast in pace than the earlier one. When there are two versions of same song, comparisions are common, for me the instrumentation in first song was good, as it was depicting the pathos mood and good usage of tabala, but this version was also equally good, dont know what would be the situation to make two songs with different instruments, movie would solve the puzzle. Javid ali sonded good in this version, but both the versions were good, but Javid had problem in singing telugu, wish this song would have been given to Karthik, however Javid to sounded good.

Picks Of The Album: Thakita Thakajam (both the versions) & Break up song .

OVERALL RATING: 7.6/10

Remarks: DSP-Nagachaitanya combo made fresh albums like 100% love, dhada which were huge chartbusters, but this album fails as it lacks freshness and follows the routine trend of previous films and even more sounds like DSP's previous films only. The saving grace owuld be those last three songs, which are also routine but DSP made something different with instrumentation. The title song, I guess DSP does'nt want to get his work accoladed, because the singers ruined the song. Second song (Neevente) was among the routine stuff and can be passed on. Third song was a big disaster, no proper lyric quality at all. Srimani should have done it in a different manner, but he teribbly fails in it. What was wrong with the lyricists no one knows, all lyrics were out of standard. Only saving grace of album was DSP with his bit new instrumentation.  However this would remain one of the DSP's routine stuffed work. Lets hope the movie to be a blockbuster and bring Chai all the praises and accolades.
