1. Mellaga Tellarindi
Singers: Anurag Kulkarni, Ramya Behra & Mohana Bhogaraju
Lyrics: Srimani
Rating: 3.5/5
The first song is a typical Mickey's tune. It is a welcome song to the people coming to villages. As usual all Mickey's songs will be fresh, soft and soothing, this is also like that. It sounds exactly like "Yaa Yaa" from A..aa, same classical touch, melody and folky touched chorus. Song suits the visuals thats it. Anurag was not too good, he sounds a little bit harsh, and has lyrical issues. He says "Chutta poga manchullo" instead of "chuttu poga manchullo". Ramya and Mohana are limited to background surprisingly. Srimani's lyrics are too fresh evoking the village festivity. Nothing musch to speak about this song.
2. Shatamanam Bhavati
Singers: K.S.Chitra & Vijay Yesudas
Chorus: Sri Krishna, Ramya Behra, Anjana Soumya, Mohana Bhogaraju, Sameera & Deepu
Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry
Rating: 5/5
A song evoking all the telugu spirit in us. It has been too long listening to huge choral group songs and here is a perfect song for all those who miss those kind of songs. Indeed a huge choral group supporting the lead singers is simply amazing, whenever the word "Shatamanmbhavati" comes takes us into trans where only pure melody exists. All Mickey's things, evokes all the telugu nativity. RJS lyrics were awsome. Next upto the vocals, Chitra maa and Jr.Yesudas, Who else can? The way Chitra sounds is too sweet and soulful, whenever we have to record a song in theme of telugu nativity, the only right female choice would be Chitra. Whether it is SVSC title song or Gopikamma or Venumadhava etc only Chitra can sound apt giving soul to the song. Now'a'days whenever she sings no other song can sound as good as hers, she owns the song and grabs our hearts and also awards. Listening to Vijay was also a feast, but he was more concious on the lyric. What else we can say when Mickey+RJS+Chitra decide to trap our hearts = Shatamanambhavati.
3. Naalo Nenu
Singer: Sameera Bharadwaj
Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry
Rating: 4/5
Another Mickey styled melody, pleasant to hear and sounds fresh.Nothing else to speak, very fresh, full of pure melody, classism. When music directors now'a'days are just struggling to deliver a pure melody atleast one in an album, where does Mickey gets all these soulful and pure melodies in one album itself. That makes him special, thats why he is my personal favourite. RJS lyrics were good enough, Sameera was dull, in replacement if Shreya was given this song, it would sound better, but Sameera too sounded good.
4. Nilavade
Singer: S.P.Balasubrahmanyam
Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry
Rating: 5/5
What else can make a melody better when SPB enters the scenario. I guess only SPB is the singer in Telugu, who could elavate a simple song to a different level like no one else. We would have got atleast more than 1000 singers in telugu, but no one can match his vocals nor expression. Thats why he is a legend, love your singing, love your expression, love you sir. Why he is a legend we can know when we hear to the expression given by him to the phrase " Devadase kalidasuga mari". SPB is just a perfect tee to an old school days song. We must be lucky to listen to singers like SPB-Chitra now. They seem to be perfect to the saying "Age is just a number", their voice sounds young and young day by day.
5. Hailo Hailessare
Singers: Adithya Iyenger, Rohith Paritala, Mohana Bhogaraju & Divya Divakar
Lyrics: Srimani
Rating: 4/5
"Gobbiyallo Gobillo", how can choral group sing these words wrong? two familiar words!! But a song which replaces "Sankranthi Vachindo Tummeda" which we are hearing from past 20 years. Atleast now, which has replaced that song, my wish is not to be replaced, but we should have atleast one song in every album which evokes our telugu nativity and spirit. Hats off to the movie makers for makinga song for occasion of Sankranti(indeed the biggest festival of Telugu people). Mickey was at his best, what a stricking instrumentation? amazing. Vocals were fine but frail, singers must be replaced by energetic singers nor Mickey would have invoved more singers to make the song sound good, but this was at its own best.
