Cast: 'Mega Powerstar' Ram Charan & Samantha

Music: 'Rockstar' Devi Sri Prasad

Lyricist: Chandrabose

Rangasthalam is an upcoming Indian Telugu period drama directed bySukumar and starring Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles, while Aadhi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu play crucial roles. The music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The movie will see Ram Charan play a villager and is an action thriller story set in the country side. The movie was launched by Chiranjeevi in February and commenced shooting in April 2017.The film will have Ram Charan playing as a deaf villager.

The unit released 2 teasers, one for Charan & the other for Samanatha, we all know what it has done after its release. Both went viral & were trending in youtube with 10 million views & 5 million views respectively, creating records. Then later they released the first single 'Yentha Sakkagunnave' which received tremendous response. As we all know that this film is set in a backdrop of 1980's, it would be atreat to witness the visuals.

Now, music has been composed by our very own DSP, Sukumar's hit point. I always say this DSP is busy with handful of chances every year no matter what happens & he must be lucky for such a dominance in a film industry. So here he goes with 'Rangasthalam'. DSP who garnered negative responses & reviews for his work in MCA, is surely back with this I guess. Because the teaser which featured a BGM of 'Ranga Ranga Rangasthalanam' went viral & stole the music lovers hearts, later it is 'Yentha Sakkagunnavae' which rocked with its freshness, so the expectations on music gradually rose very high. Hope he has rocked this time. So why late lets peep into it directly. DSP composed 5 tunes for the film, all went viral, lets directly go into the songs, I'am super excited to fare the songs.

As per the reports there would be a pre release event on 18 March on the eve of Ugadi, which is specially designed by the team at Vishakapatnam with 'Megastar' Chiranjeevi as the cheif guest.

01. Yentha Sakkagunnave

Singers: Devi Sri Prasad & Chorale
Rating: 5/5

This is the first song which got released a long way back. This song can be forever etched in our hearts for its keen sense of music & lyrics. Usually at the first attempt it amazes us, later it becomes a slow poison & loots our hearts, soul, kidneys etc!! It is such a great melody. DSP is back for sure. The song is fresh in all aspects, especially the prelude & second interlude with guitar sounded marvelous. When guitar with simple beats are on the board with DSP at the helm, no body can help it, it becomes an instant chartbuster. DSP always tries to  amaze us with his melodies, though how many mass songs he makes does'nt matter. Listen to the beauty of the song, everything went in hand in hand reaching a great output. Singing by DSP is one more plus, he sounded as usual cherubic with that lilt tone.

Next upto the constituent part, lyrics, Chandrabose induced great nativity, with his creative thoughts, he wrote all those phrases which makes every Telugu lover go bonkers about it. The phrase 'thirannallalo tappi ediseti biddaki edurochina thalli sirunavvula' stands out. No matter where the song goes, after every alternative phrase, the line "Yentha Sakkagunnavae lachhimi" is on loop. When these type of songs are made, the slang should'nt sound artificial & it did'nt. DSP & Chandrabose took aced through  it very well. Overall the experience is blissful. Great melody from DSP after many days. As I always say when the 3 departments lyrics, vocals & music stand out, the output is extraordinary. Same happened here. At last the chorus in the song is a sure mention. At last I could conclude leaving the statement "Yentha Sakkagunnadi Ro Paata Yentha Sakkagunnadi Ro!!".

02. Rangasthalanam (Title Song)

Singers: Rahul Sipigunj
Rating: 5/5

This song which shook the social media, needs no intro I guess, which ran successfully with 7million+ views. That record is enough, to prove its prowess. Usually I don't care about this records, but when the stuff is so good and it needs this much hype, all these records matter. Coming to the song, did DSP leave anyone to sit on their chairs while listening to this song, hear to those folk beats!! OMG!! a folk exuberance. Those peppy beats dominated the whole song, especially the second interlude, loved this stuff!! Hope this becomes a track where Charan is sure to give a visual treat with his graceful steps. Putting everything aside, whole credit goes to the solo lyricist Chandrabose, who never fails to impress his audience, with his ting of philosophy. The second interlude where he writes a great motivational line, which rises a hope for the 'lost ones'. Hats off sir!! He surely deserves a standing ovation from lyrical department, for writing such great lines. This song will be etched in hearts of hearts for long.

Next upto the vocals, Rahul Sipligunj- a folk singer is a sure plus for the song, his energy was at peaks, its really very difficult to sing this song, because those powerful beats will never let a singer to open his/her voice & sing like this, but Rahul managed very well to showcase his existence in the song. So we can conclude leaving the statement "highly energetic". Next DSP showcased his folk beats with a ting of Tamizhian culture, which is mostly loved by 'Native Andhra' people. This song is rich in highlighting the culture of 'Andhra- Telugu People', those Kolatam beats, trumpets, drums create an experience of 'KONASEEMA UTSAVALU'!! people who knew them, would surely enjoy this. hats off to DSP for this amazing song. At last 'The best one in the album till now'.

03. Rangamma Mangamma

Singer: M. M. Manasi
Rating: 5/5

This one is a female intense solo, sung-written-composed very effectively. As I always tell, when three departments(vocals, lyrics, music) dominate each other, this would be the result. Do I need to tell about the hype it created, "10 million+ views"!! its enough to showcase what it has done to hearts of music lovers. DSP is in full swing, he completely showed us how would folk beats sound, I mean he reminded us of late 80's where 'Ilayaraja' sir & 'Keeravani' showed what folk beats are. Those beats, Shehanayi, Harmonium, Flute, Violin every instrument rocked, loved this composition. As usual Chandrabose is in full swing again, he wrote all those phrases which would curb the feelings for her hero. The phrase "Naa anadamanta moota katti kandisenakelithe aa kandireegalochi nannu suuttuumdite" went crazy, loved every phrase, those sounds like 'ushamma, mantamma, uffamma etc' made the language lovers go bonkers about them. At last coming to the singing, Manasi was a perfect tee to the song, her expressions elevated the mood of the song, she sounded cherubic. But little more lilt is required, like S. Janaki or Chitra, who would kill the song with their expressions. But no offence to Manasi, she was completely satisfactory. At last one more best in the album from DSP.

04. Aa Gattunnuntava

Singer: Shiva Nagulu & Chorale
Rating: 5/5

This is a folk song which is completely situational. As we heard this movie would be a political drama, this song highlights that content very effectively, I guess this song would be placed during the campaign for elections in the movie, the content in the song asks the audience to choose whether they would like to vote for that opposition party which is bruted with all those malfunctions like vote scandal, cash scandal , alcohol scandal or would they vote for the party which stands for righteousness, courage, honesty, justice. Chandrabose completely aced through the lyrics. This song is a 'Telangana Janapadam' kind thing, highlighting the rich culture and heritage of Telangana Telugu people, where these kind of songs find their existence. DSP too completely aced through this stuff, it sounded really very great to hear this kind of songs in now'a'days films, which stand by our great Telugu culture. Shiva Naagulu, super singer(folk season) participant, as usual rocked this song, even the chorus sounded highly energetic, i guess DSP sang that portion in b/w. DSP brought the right person for the right song, who else would have highlighted this song like Shiva Naagulu, Hats off to the entire team..!! Take a bow 'Rangastalam' team!!

05. Jigelu Rani

Singers: Rela Kumar, Ganta Venkata Lakshmi & Chorale
Rating: 5/5

This would be the special song which features 'Pooja Hegde' as the lead dancer. So called as a 'Item Song', again rocked in all aspects, hear to the music, as told in the title song, DSP did'nt make us hear the song but we can see that frame while hearing to the music, that was the impact. These songs would sound out dated for now'a'days listeners, but cannot be any better, as the title suggests 'Rangasthalam 1985' the music is also from those days. I can hear 'Isaignyani Ilayaraja's' touch everywhere, I think it would be just inspiration in style, but I dare to say it as copy. DSP proved he is the rockstar in all genres, really amazed with these songs. This song is like a conversation sung in a simple tune, which was quite popular in early 1980's . Vocalists too rocked like anything. Lyrics are once again above extra ordinary. But hera the winner is DSP, for creating an amazing experience, which is only owned by 'Telugu people'.

06. Orayyo

Singers: Chandrabose & Chorus
Rating: 5/5

This is the last song, which got a direct release in the theater, its like a surprise element. No one expected this kind of stuff from either DSP nor Sukumar. This is a pathetic melancholic song which is sung when the supporting character (Aadhi) dies. The song is so perfect & neatly made. It has been so many years listening to these kind of songs, thanks to DSP and Chandrabose for this song. For a huge surprise Chandrabose himself sang the song, he made it sound marvelous. Take a bow sir!! What a lyric, what a rendition, what an expression..Hats off Chandrabose!!. It made every one cry, DSP's soul stirring instrumentation is a sure mention. At last I can conclude with the statement "Mee Paataku Kurisenu Kanneeti Sappatlu!!". Loved it like anything.

Picks Of The Album: Is there any doubt? "ENTIRE ALBUM"!!

OVERALL RATING: 10/10

Remarks: After many days DSP is back with his amazing stuff!! This album is completely for him, all the tunes rocked in their respective genres. Chandrabose, the solo card lyricist too is back with a bang after many debacles. So I think DSP-Chandrabose-Sukumar & team deserve a huge standing ovation for this amazing stuff which highlighted the great TELUGU spirit, culture & heritage. It satisified both the Telugu states by highlighting the theme of our respective states, this album states that 'though divided by states united by culture'. I have nothing to speak wait to witness the tsunami of Rangasthalam on March 30. As ususal when music is good, it increases the expectations on film, lets wait and watch..!!
