Athadey (Solo) is a 2017 bilingual experimental anthology art film co-written, co-produced and directed by Bejoy Nambiar with Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. Shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Tamil, production began during November 2016. Solo tells the story of four different people, each story revolving around four different elements: Earth, Fire, Wind and Water, each with the different facets of Lord Shiva. The film was released on October 5, 2017 in both Tamil and Malayalam worldwide. The film was dubbed in Telugu as Athadey.
Usually dubbed films go unnoticed, but films like this should'nt go unnoticed. After Mahanati Dulquer rose into immense fame in Telugu states, which brought this film here. Even before Mahanati, DQ's craze is pan Indian. The subjects which he chooses makes his fans embrace on him. Surely films like this may not win at BO but will surely win hearts and praises of critics. Keeping everything aside lets directly look into the album.
Music has been composed by numerous composers for the bilingual film like, Prashant Pillai, Thaikkudam Bridge, Masala Coffee, Gaurav Godkhindi, Agam, Filter Coffee, Brodha V, TaalAtma, Abhinav Bhansal, Sooraj Kurup and Sez. But this Telugu songs are composed by Prashanth Pillai and Govind Menon. Usually dubbed songs sound dumb, but this album looted my heart even with lyrics, they are phenomenal, so I choose to review this masterpiece, which should'nt go unnoticed. So why late, let's directly peep into it.
01. Vachadu Vachadu
Singers: Chinna Ponnu, Ankur Enkur Johar, Sravana Bhargavi & Raghav Jack
Lyricist: Bhaskar Bhatla
Rating: 3/5
This is an out and out mass song, which works as a hero elevation song, I need'nt speak about the situation of the film, because its already well noted, now I will just focus on lyrics & make over of the song. Chinna Ponnu who is usually credited for this type of songs, rocks as usually, her energy!! Goosebumps!! She suits perfectly to the tee. Right from 'Naakumukka' this is nothing new for her or either for us. Ankur & Raghav take care of the Tamil rap portions, which sounded fine. Sravana Bhargavi has been the choral support to Chinna Ponnu in the song. All the vocalists are fine. Lyrics by Bhaskar Bhatla are routine, even Bhaskar Bhatla is usually credited for this kind of songs & he plays safe. Overall a well made re make of the original song.

02. Kannullo Nuvve
Singer: Anurag Kulkarni
Lyricist: Bhaskar Bhatla
Rating: 5/5
A lite hearted love melody evoking love all over. This song strikes the right chord with the beautiful guitar taking its pace, and the song becomes even more romantic with those couple of keyboard notes weaving the whole song. Lovely song, a very soft paced melody, sung very well by Anurag Kulkarni. But whole light on Lyricist, every phrase rocked, how did he write so well for a dubbed version?? is something to wonder. Bhaskar Bhatla always proves that he is very good at writing these kind of songs, but why he has been branded with those mass songs, directors should know!! atleast now TFI should realise his talent and give his due, thats what I feel..!!
The phrases " ఈ క్షణం మనతో మనం మహోత్సవం ", " ఈ ప్రణయం నిరంతరం ఎంతో అద్భుతం ", " నీ ముద్దుతో ముగ్గేసుకుంది నా చెంప వాకిలి నువ్వు నవ్వితే నేను నింపుకుంటా ముత్యాల మూటలే ఇలా "..!! perfectly marvelous & amazing. We expect some great songs like this from you sir. Hope you'll get to write these kind of genres.

03. Navvule Thene Vaana
Singers: Sathya Shiva Kumar Dheenvahi & Varalakshmi
Lyricist: Bhaskar Bhatla
Rating: 5/5
This beautiful wedding song, rocks all the right chords. Beautiful peppy instrumentation and lovely singing. That soft tune fused with rustic guitars always sounds amazing. Those 'Kalyanam' beats, even make the song more better. Once again this song is amazing in three aspects, Vocals, music & lyrics. If everything gos hand in hand like this it gives a blissful experience to the listeners. This great output for a dubbed song is phenomenal. Though we heard to Isaigynani and Rahman sir's bilingual songs, these sound fresh like those. Singer sings it as " మాధం లో హాయి హాయి రాగం" but it is " మధం లో ", a very micro issue, usually who cares for it now'a'days.
04. Aa Marrichettu
Singers: Anurag Kulkarni
Lyricist: Poorna Chaari
Rating: 5/5
This is a situational song which brings all those nostalgic moments of life with a ting of folk exuberance. Even then the lyricist induces some great philosophy of life within its boundary. A lovely song, which is a sure listen. If you haven'nt heard this masterpiece, pl do it, otherwise you'll miss the blissful experience. Kudos to music directors, vocalists and the lyricist.
05. Roshomon Roshomon
Singers: Sai Madhav & Naresh Mamnila
Lyricist: Poorna Chaari
Rating: 5/5
Coming to the best in the album. This is a fun ridden wonderful melody with few rustic preludes and interludes. The sound which takes as the prelude goes on a loop till the end, which is sure to make us sway with it & tap our feet in merry. No matter how many times that "Roshomon Roshomon" comes, its perfect all the times. The place where whole visual freezes and "Roshomon Roshomon" is booooring is sure to give goosebumps. Vocalists along with Chorale are very fine. That interlude which has the fastest chord progression is the highlight in the song.
06. Sita Kalyanamae
Singers: Sai Madhav & Varalakshmi
Lyricist: Poorna Chaari
Rating: 5/5
A song that stays for long. A melancholic slow paced traditional song, which has all the right elements that evoke right emotion. All the instrumentation is fine. Lyrics are fine. Vocalists are above extraordinary. Varalakshmi sounded soo good. A sad song that can be etched in our hearts for Dulquer-Neha's superb screen presence and its keen sense of music.
