RX 100 Audio Review- Telugu (2018)
Movie: RX 100 (2018)
Director: Ajay Bhupathi
Producer: Ashok Reddy Gummakonda
Cast: Sai Karthikeya & Payal Rajput
Music: Chaitan Bhardwaj
Music Label: Mango Music
Recently, the most happening film in Tollywood is RX100, viewers came out of the theaters witnessing a variety & unique concept which has been very new to Tollywood. This film would be absolutely a very bold attempt by the director, he has proved himself right. Director did this film no where less then a pro. A film being censored with 'A' certificate, yet breaking the hearts of critics along with the viewers is something to wonder. Recently, Arjun Reddy with 'A' rate, has proved its stamina at box office & now this film continues its legacy. Usually these films branded for adults are gaining overwhelming attention even from youth, but this time director made it sure that his aesthetic scenes are clearly connected with the storyline of the film & he made sure that there is no extra or unnecessary romantic scene which is out of the track from his storyline. But it needs lot of guts, especially the director & producer who have to carry the film on their frail shoulders being debutants, & even the hero-heroin must face the criticism from 1st grade audience. But putting everything aside, they had enough courage in their director's story & as of now showcased their talent.
These would be the talk about the film from the viewers, & I just shared mine in the above text. These films require great help from music director to explain their indescribable narration & so is the music from Chaitan Bharadwaj. He did a great work, music worked very well, already few songs topping the charts & BGM getting profuse response. So why late, lets get into the review.
01. Nippai Ragilele
Singers: Rahul Sipligunj
Lyricist: Chaitanya Varma
Rating: 5/5
This is a situational intro song of the hero. I meant it as situational, because this song has been haunting the fierce emotions of the hero about his indelible past. This song is very noisy, like that of his bike RX100. Actually, that's what is needed in the song. Chaitan brought the emotion of the song very well with his instrumentation, he has done a laudable job. He deserves all the eulogizes. Instrumentation was rustic & strapping. Those beats which started in the prelude went looping till the end giving goosebumps to the listeners. Chaitanya Varma's lyrics are sublime. We even hear the sound of bike at last. Rahul Sipligunj, as usual rocks the song with his bumping vocals, he brings in all the energy to prove his existence in the song. Totally amazed with his rendition.
02. Pilla Raa
Singers: Anurag Kulkarni
Lyricist: Chaitanya Prasad
Rating: 5/5
This one is already topping the charts & playlists. This is such a beautiful melody, so neatly made. Instrumentation is brilliant. Few guitar notes take up the whole song with upholster interludes. That interlude with flute takes away the soul. Chaitan mastered the song so very well, loved it. Coming to the magic, its Anurag's voice. He is the most happening singer now'a'days. All the magic is hidden in his ethereal voice & he uses that to full extent in this song. But the flaw comes with his lite rendition, where he adds no stress on the words which has to be stressed & stresses on the words which need not be. Like "ఊనగా " instead of "ఉన్నాగా " & "thoduga" instead of " తోడుగా", which can be absolutely overlooked for his marvelous rendition, but wanted to mention. Lyrics by Chaitanya Prasad are ingenious. He simply aced through the song, every line, every phrase made me go bonkers. Especially the phrases " గుండె కోసి నిన్ను అందులోనే దాచి పూజించిన ", " రక్త మందారాలతోనే కాలాన్నే తిరిగి వెన్నక్కి తొద్దామా " stand out & need a pat on lyricist's back for this creation.
03. Reppalaninda
Singers: Haricharan
Lyricist: Srimani
Rating: 5/5
One more intense romantic solo, which loots the hearts of music lovers. This song is once again composed-written & sung too effectively. Flute as a interlude along with violin makes the listeners sway their heads in merry. I can term this song as romantic swag , a "love anthem", so neatly mastered. Everything went in hand in and resulting in a blissful output. Haricharan, made it sound sweeter than usual, softer than ususal & mellifluous than usual. Every time he takes away the nativity from the song with his foul rendition of Telugu words, but this time he restored everything with a melodious treat. Srimani as usual wrote all those phrases which he is fond of writing , but he made sure that they were unique & neat.
04. Adhire Hrudayam
Singers: Karthik
Lyricist: Chaitanya Prasad
Rating: 5/5
This song is one more romantic melody. As I told in the beginning this film needs such kind of music which tells the indescribable part of the story, but the director took a turn & even showcased them at the visuals, instead then, music acted as a icing on the cake. Chaitan made it slow, sweet & soft like the above ones. He used the same formula for all the these songs, first starts at very slow pace then gives a bang with heavy shift of gear in rhythm. Karthik, his melodious voice branded for these genres, rocks it as usually. He sounds heavenly, its nothing new for him or either for us. Chaitanya Prasad, made the lyrics quite interesting, they suited to T.
05. Manasunipatti Dhaaramkatti
Singers: Haricharan & Uma Neha
Lyricist: Srimani
Rating: 5/5
This one is a romantic duet. Melodious as usual, instrumentation struck the right chord. A good song, even sung too effectively. Ia'm bored praising Chaitan for his brilliant compositions. He is amazing. When ever that 'Tharak tharak tharak tha" comes its wonderful. A soft melody on which I have nothing to speak. Srimani does well this time too & Haricharan is in full swing, sang it soo well. Kuddos to the team. Uma Neha is fine, but not extraordinary.
06. Rudhiram Marigi
Singers: Chaitan Bhardwaj & Deepthi ParthaSarathy
Lyricist: Sirasri
Rating: 4/5
This one is melancholic duet, which comes in the second part of the story, narrating the pain & desire of the hero for his girl. Everything is fine, music & lyrics, but Chaitan did'nt bring in that pain in his voice which oozed the interest in the song. Either it should sound ferocious or sorrowful but rather it sounded mellifluous with ample of dull expression. Deepthi's voice had nothing much to do, confined to few low octaves & soft phrases, but Chaitan would have done better or given it to someone else. Sirasri needs all the praises, he uses the term 'రుధిరం' instead of 'రక్తం' which clicked on very well. We hear very rarely that 'raktham' is also said as 'rudhiram', it needs no astonishment if some Telugu speaking person says that he has no idea of what 'Rudhiram' actually means, b'coz it has been used somewhere in past. TY Sirasri, for making the song sound like a Pro with some rich Telugu words.
07. Dhinaku Dhinna Tha
Singers: Varam
Chorus: Sreedeep K & Maruthi
Lyricist: Chaitanya Varma
Rating: 5/5
This is a special song alias item song, why I don't know these songs changed its title now & then, first they were called club songs, then record songs, recently item songs & now special songs or mass songs, whatever it is, they serve as a moment of embracement for Telugu audience. It has been a custom in every telugu movie to feature a song of this kind. Chaitan brought in the other side of these mass songs, he made it slow, rustic, rhythmic & quite different from now'a'day's mass songs. This falls in the genre of folk mass songs usually called record dancing songs in states of Andhra.Recently we heard to 'Jigel rani' & this is one more like that. Isaignyani made these kinds in bunch in past.
This song is continuously beaten with those mass rustic drums or somewhat different instrument like thumba, those beats add on the rhythm to the song. Last interlude was good. Singing is fine, lyrics are upto the T. This song mostly sounded like a rehash of 'Aa eedhi kurrodu' song from 'Gundello Godari'.
