Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava Reddy Audio Review- Telugu (2018)

Movie: Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava Reddy (2018)

Director: Trivikram

Producer: Chinna Babu

Cast: 'Young Tiger' NTR & Pooja Hegde

Music: S. S. Thaman

Music Label: Aditya Music

Trivikram is coming back with ASVRR after a huge disaster 'Agnyatavaasi'. Trailer & teaser looked very promising, so again the hype rose high. Now'adays previous failures doesn't matter, if the content is promising, it's enough, the hype rises high. So, let's wait and see for what Trivikram has brought for us. This is an important film for NTR & Pooja Hegde too.

S. S. Thaman has been roped to compose music for this film, usually Trivikram's films never lack keen in music & I guess here too the history repeated. Trivikram never failed in extracting the best tunes from Koti, DSP, Manisharma, Mickey J Meyer, Anirudh & now Thaman. Thaman too focused a lot in scoring for ASVRR.

He has composed 4 tunes, may be likewise with the contemporary trend they will release the left over tracks directly in the movie. Now let's look how the songs are fared.

01. Anaganaga

Vocalists: Armaan Maalik & Chorus
Lyricist: Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry
Rating: 5/5

A beautiful melody completely in Thaman's signature. First the song starts with electronic guitars and bass banging on the boards , then joins a mellifluous violin which is like a indispensable part of the song. Thaman didn't deviate from his routine elements, but auto tuner isn't used that's it. Song becomes magical with the Sastry Garu's lyrics. As usual his words are like honey, they dont even require a tune, even if just read, the swag would be high. Sastry garu is always awesome. Armaan Maalik with his superb rendition rocks the song. Chorus was absolutely perfect. Overall a great song from Thaman.

02. Yeda Poyinaado

Vocalists: Kailash Kher, Nikita Srivalli & Penchal Das
Lyricist: Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry
Rating: 4/5

This is an intense, raw & rustic song which has traces of many genres. For sure didn't expect this type of stuff from Thaman, a great change over. Instrumentation aced as usually. Those beats, bass & violins weaved magic. But somehow it may not work on masses, because song's situation & mood are set completely in a different altitude, but this may not be any better. Kudos to Thaman.
What can one say about the legend Sastry Garu's lyrics!! From few decades he has been mesmerising us with his profound words, yet they sound  grand. And we cannot campare any of his songs with his own songs, because no two songs of his sound same, he manages to bring that variation from song to song. God knows about how it's possible for this technocrat to bring in that magic all the time. A great song, each word & phrase is like a pearl. 
Vocalists did a commendable job. Nikita especially sounded awful. That phrase " రమ్ రుధీరమ్ సమరం " when ever that phrase came, irrespective of who sang that, it gave goosebumps. Kailash Kher as usual he sounds awkward. But for this time, only the first part sounded odd, later he picked the pace. That last stanza where "శుభొ జయము" part is sung, is absolutely perfect, it's like a rehash of some Ghantasala Garu's song, sounded too professional. Overall a great song.

03. Peniviti

Vocalists: Kaala Bhairava
Lyricist: Ramjogayya Sastry
Rating: 4/5

This one is an emotional track. Thaman literally weaved magic, his instrumentation is absolutely perfect. Those mellifluous violins & keyboard notes set the mood of song to a rage. Ramjogayya has done a brilliant job. His lyrics are soul of the song. The way he has penned a situational with rustic & folk exuberance synchronization too well with the song.  Inducing regional(Raayalaseema) slang into these type of tunes is really difficult. But these versatile ' (Seetharama Sastry & Ramjogayya ) aced through it as easy as a pie. Kaala Bhairava is fine, did well with his part. When first, the song was released everybody surmised that this should be sung by a female singer & the film unit didn't realize it. But Ramjogayya revealed the truth on Twitter with a title "ఓ తల్లి ఆవేదన ఓక బిడ్డ నోట" , then we got a clarity about the situation. At last, did I like the song , definitely yes!!

04. Reddy Ikkada Soodu

Singers: Daler Mahendi, Anjana Sowmya & Chorus
Lyricist: Ramjogayya Sastry
Rating: 4/5

The song starts with a old song "Veyyi Subhamulu Kalgu Neeku" sung by 'Varalakshmi' , composed by 'Pendyala Nageswararao' from the film "Krishnarjunna Yudham " , then electronic guitars start banging & then the chorus & then the song starts with rhythmic mass beats. Song's  foot tapping. Will surely make you sway you're head . Ramjogayya is back to his form, but this time lyrics aren't creepy, they suited to the T. A perfect mass song with all required elements, which would embrace the fans. Chorale is too good. Daler Mehindi is a surprise element in this track, as always Thaman is known for getting foreign singers, this time it's Daler, after 'Saahore' this would be the successful one for him in Telugu, but his accent & way of singing is not at all good. Many places we hear to that false accent which is however covered by neat instrumentation & Harmony arrangement. Anjana Sowmya is perfect. I personally feel her voice is reincarnation of legendary Swarnalatha. Anjana fills that lost or void feel that we aren't listening to lost Swarnalatha's voice.

05. Reddamma Thalli- Female Version

Vocalist: Mohana Bhogaraju
Lyricist: Penchal Das
Rating: 5/5

This is the last song which comes in the climax of the film & plays a vital role in enhancing the rural flavor of the rustic storyline, which is carried effectively by Trivikram. Penchal Das needs a special mention. Took a bow for you'r lyrics. The way he has brought the pain into the song with his words in a typical rural(Rayalaseema) accent, is something praiseworthy. Every phrase, every word counts. When the song was being played as a background with negligible or least instrumentation, viewers had goosebumps. Thaman, Penchal Das, NTR, Trivikram should be credited for this. Mohana Bhogaraju is simply brilliant, what a voice, what a way of rendition, hats off for her dedication 🙌🙌. And after watching this song in theaters, one cannot brace him/herself without praising Thaman's music, Penchal 's lyric, Tarak's acting, Trivikram's taking & Eshwari Rao 's acting.

06. Reddamma Thalli- Male version

Feat by. Penchal Das
Lyricist: Penchal Das
Rating: 5/5

This is the cover version, I meant youtube version. Nothing to speak about this, Penchal Das 's voice is exceptional. A rustic swag!!

Picks of the album: Entire Album, as it's different for sure.

OVERALL RATING: 8.5/10

Remarks: ASVRR is an important film for Trivikram as he needs a hit badly. Tarak is at his best with promising stills & teaser. Pooja the luck machine hints us the succes with her existence in the film. Coming to the music, thaman has done a wonderful job. Songs are different & fresh for sure. Don't know how many liked the songs, but they cannot be any better, purely situational. As we all know that this song is set in Rayalaseema backdrop, lyrics have that slang & essence. Who else pen those raw & rustic words other than Seetharama Sastry garu . Ramjogayya too did an amazing job, especially in 'peniviti', though they sound rhymic. Hope the film gets a blockbuster success, all the best to the entire team.
