I usually think master pieces should'nt be shattered or underrated. Poomaram's album is one such master piece that every music lover wants to embrace on. So even after months of it's release I decided to review its audio. If I feel, it's already gone & should be kept aside, its not called a master piece.

So now lets fare this album.

01. Poomaram- Title Track

Music: Faizal Razi
Vocalists: Faizal Razi & Chorus
Lyricist: Aashaan Babu & Dayal Singh
Rating: 5/5

One of the finest songs composed in Mallu Industry. So sweet & neat. The magical slow paced guitars go on weave magic till the end, along with spell-bounding vocalists. Such a great poetry is written everywhere, leaving the listeners in a great experience. I feel when contemporary music sounds so pleasant it might highlight the true definition of 'Indian Music', though we are now'a'days greatly influenced by western style of composing, this sort of songs composed parallelly balancing the Indian music & Western music brings in the life & soul. I feel this is a great melody, composed brilliantly & even sung effectively by the lead singer along with the ample support from the chorale. When ever the phrase "ഞാനും ഞാനുമെന്റാലും പൂമരം കൊണ്ട് കപ്പലുണ്ടാക്കി " comes, its like a boom, loved that part. Song is all about the description about that beautiful girl, which the hero comes across. Overall a melodious treat.

- MUSIC DIRECTOR 'FAIZAL RAZI'

02. Neramayi (Duet)

Music: Faizal Razi
Vocalists: Karthik & Shreya Ghoshal
Lyricist: Ajeesh Dasan
Rating:5/5

This song carries a unknown pain & pleasure with it. Faizal Razi, hats off for that brilliant work, that painful shehnayi sounds too sublime. There is some hidden pain in the song, which is brilliantly mastered by the instrumentation. Ajeesh Dasan's lyrics are melancholic & great. Karthik & Shreya Ghoshal joining their hands together, left us speechless. Both magical voices put up a robust show which is absolutely mellifluous. Shreya Ghoshal has some ethereal quality in her voice & she uses that to the full extent. Finally, a great song acing in all departments (music, vocals & lyrics).

- SINGER 'SHREYA GHOSHAL'

03. Kadavathoru Thoni

Music: Gireesh Kuttan
Vocalists: Karthik
Lyricist: Ajeesh Dasan
Rating: 5/5

Some songs are good, some songs are bad, some are for time being, some are supper hits, some trend in the luckiest times, some go unnoticed with the movie & some songs are evergreen, they stay with us till the end & this one belongs to that evergreen category. How great this song sounds? I personally felt, if they(film's unit) did'nt shoot any conversations, they just shot the songs & played it in theaters & named it as a musical film, we all would have run to the theaters to forget about our lives & get submerged in the classical touch of Malayalam film's music. Gireesh Kuttan, we bow to you in merry, for such great instrumentation & tuning.

Secondly, this song is given to the right singer, Karthik's nasal voice suits to the T. I usually used to feel, Karthik did'nt get the required footage in Malayalam Industry, & here goes that feeling of mine in void, this showcases his prowess in singing. What a great rendition by Karthik, as usual sweet & melodious. Poetic lyrics of Ajeesh are nostalgic, bringing back in the memories of 90's.

04. Ini Oru Kalathe

Music: Gireesh Kutta
Vocalists: Karthik
Lyricist: Ajeesh Dasan
Rating: 5/5

One more pure romantic melody narrating the romance of purest form of love. Ajeesh Dasan has come up with some extraordinary lyrics, which make us fall in love with this track. The tune of the song is slow & like a rehash of some old songs but everything can be overlooked for the sake of melody, melody has such great ability to loot our hearts with out our permission. karthik is in full swing, he gets all the stuff, which he is very good at.

-MUSIC DIRECTOR 'GIREESH KUTTAN'

05. Desh Raga Thillana

Music: Dr.Padmabhushan Lalgudi Gopala Iyer Jayaraman
Vocalists: Shiksha Prabhakaran, Ismath P I & Sarvasri
Lyricist: Dr.Padmabhushan Lalgudi Gopala Iyer Jayaraman
Rating: 5/5

A musical film is a void without such Carnatic dance number. 'Kathakali' is one of the greatest form of dances in India, especially raising the heritage of Kerala. Thiruvananthapuram, has been the home for all such arts & cultures. It's very great to see that a film of contemporary period features all this & I pity at all of us for not encouraging such great musical film, which needs national recognition.
Coming to the song, Dr.lalgudi Gopala gets all the ducks in a row with his ingenious capacity to compose music. I have no comments with this dance number, so I had to discuss all those things. A song on our own traditions sounds always great .

06. Mrithu Mandahaasam

Music: Arckal Nandakumar
Vocalist: K.S.Chithra
Lyricist: Arckal Nandakumar
Rating: 5/5

A song that represents whole 'kerala' & it's rich heritage with a native vintage. I mean it's traditional. A musical film without a classical Carnatic makes no sense, hence this is here. The purest form of classical music is here. We can give a standing ovation to the entire team for this song. Iam surprised to know yet such songs are made for contemporary viewers!! That proves culture & tradition are not meant to be forbidden or forgotten. Nandakumar & Chithra put up a epic show.
'Chithra' chechi, the name itself is enough to give goosebumps. The way she renders this song , proves her versatility & prowess. I can term her rendition as 'classical swag'. Hats off Chitra ji for such great rendition 🙏🙏. Singing with no instrumentation is really great- Iam speechless, no comments, just listen to this masterpiece which has honey filled all over it. I can say chithra ji's singing is ageless, she sounds like sweet 18, listeners would be on cloud 9 listening to her ethereal voice. A legendary singer indeed, may be many awards are awaiting for her in the store. She is singing since few decades, even the voice who s singing, nor the people listening to her have never become tired & will'nt for ever.

- SINGER 'K.S.CHITHRA'

07. Thaka Tharom

Music: Nasil P
Vocalists: Nasil P & Chorale
Lyricist: Nasil P
Rating: 5/5

A song for Nasil. We can witness his vintage. This is the power of music, it can create wonders. There is no instrumentation even in this song, only clapping sounds sum upto the orchestration in the song.  The chorus is perfect. Nasil is amazing, my heart throb from now. What can one say about his rendition, once again Iam speechless.

08. Ore Sooryanalle

Music: Gopi Sundar
Vocalists:  Karthik & Chorus
Lyricist: Balachandran Chullikadu
Rating: 5/5

One more masterpiece, with a different genre. Its a motivational song which awakes the Good in all & transfers positive vibes all over. Music by Gopi Sundar is spell bounding & Karthik is brilliant as usually, it's nothing new for either of them. That electric guitars & a bass as background sounded skillfull. Lyrics are beyond extraordinary. Karthik has got some great footage in this film to showcase his talent.

09. Oru Mamarathinthe

Music: Sayoojya Das
Vocalists: Karthik
Lyricist: Harinarayana BK
Rating: 5/5

One more pleasant melody which stays with us for long. Iam bored of praising the films unit, how did they extract best from everyone!! Karthik is the hero in this album, he is brilliant brilliant brilliant, iam tired of praising him. A magical cast spell all around, it's like enjoying sunrise at 'Aluvapuzha' . But don't know why felt like this song would have been given to K.J.Yesudas or SPB, because tune suits their voice too a maximum extent.

10. Neramayi ( Solo )

Music: Fazail Razi
Vocalists: Karthik
Lyricist: Ajaneesh Desam
Rating: 5/5

Above song presented in a male version. I don't know what's best in this, the music/vocals/lyrics, who is the winner? Neither of the above, we audience are the winners to get to listen to such great songs. Karthik, the king of melody, rocked this one too with his sweet lovely voice, it's heavenly. A great song.

OVERALL RATING: 10/10

Picks Of The Album: "Entire Album", Coz it's a masterpiece.

Like the title 'Poomaram', which means a tree with flowers, each song is a blossom & every singer is a petal in it & we are the butterflies that seek the nectar from it.

****** A Masterpiece Album 😘😘🙏🙏******
