'Oorantha Anukuntunnaru' is an upcoming telugu language film directed by Balaji casting Nawin Krishna, Megha & Avasarala in lead roles. Film's name is inspired from an old ANR's hit song 'oorantha Anukuntunnaru' sung by P.Susheela & Ghantasala from the film 'Raithu Kutumbam'.
All the music is composed by the talented 'K.M.Radhakrishnan'.

01. Kanna
Vocalists: K.M.Radhakrishnan & Chitra
Lyricist: Vanamali
Rating: 3/5

First song is a break up song with routine situation as a back drop. Song has pain written all over it with traditional instrumentation of which Radhakrishnan is always fond of. However tune appears like a rehash of his old songs. Inspite of routine tune the song has got it's flavor with the peculiar style of rendition. Instrumentation is traditional, all the tabla beats, veena etc take their pace yet not so striking. I always don't understand what this Vanamali tries to convey with his lyrics . 'కన్నా నా లోపలా నిన్నే ఈనాడు ఇలా' what does this mean? Though there are some sublime phrases all are lost in his irrelevant comparisons.
Coming to the rendition, Radhakrishnan makes it unique with his complicated way of singing. Veteran Chitra is always perfect, she is an asset for the song. The way she renders those complicated notes with great ease is something to note. Most important thing is sound quality, in which Chitra aces. It's nice to listen to her after a very long time. Overall, a mediocre song with all the credit going to Chitra & KMR's magical voices.

02. Alavaatu leni Kotha

Vocalists: S.P.Balasubrahmanyum & Sunitha
Lyricist: Srihari Mangalampalli
Rating: 3/5

This is that love ballad in Radhakrishnan's template. All that traditional instrumentation with a slight coveal touch is absolutely delightful to listen, kudos to Radhakrishnan. But the problem here is it appears like a rehash of his old songs & the instrumentation is quite similar to the above song yet there isn't any melancholic touch. Lyrics too are fine but they need 2-3 attempts to get on with them.  That routine tuning is making the song mediocre. If not for all this, it's always a blissful experience to listen to the legends' voice!! SPB & Sunitha both are at their usual best. It is known that both the singers have trouble singing high pitches but when it's Radhakrishnans' song there is no expectation with those high pitches, understanding that template concept of the music director, singers give their usual best, look how well they manage to sing those extended stretches, loved their renditions, full credit for them .

03. Nee Romba Romba

Vocalists: Maneesha & Chorus
Lyricist: Srihari Mangalampalli
Rating: 3.5/5

One might think this is a tamil song & skip even before listening to the whole song!! But don't worry it's not completely a tamil song, but it's partially Telugu !! We listen to more tamil rather than telugu in this song!! Strange but, it's not that cringe idea, after listening to the whole song one finds it quite enjoyable, this song even has a Telangana folk tune with some other lyrics- kodala kodala which is originally the tune of (Poru telanganama ) song. If not for those party beats, Radhakrishnan has got his template adhere so well with the westernized instrumentation, which is commendable. Lyrics are ok, singing is above par. Overall a peppy foot tapping number with lot of reservations based on listeners' taste.

04. Marriages Are Made In Heaven

Vocalists: Pavan & Vaishnavi
Lyricist: Peddhada Murthy
Rating: 3.5/5

This one is that 'dhol bhaja' song which is almost featured in every family entertainer. As usual Radhakrishnan doesn't deviate from his template tuning. Instrumentation is quiet catchy & foot tapping yet doesn't strike for the first attempt, why all the songs are getting mediocre applause is, Radhakrishnan is somewhere in 2000's itself, he didn't update himself, so all the music sounds somewhat like 'Anand  & Godavari' times, which was appealing that time, but it's nothing now, this music needs some contemporary ting with lot of freshness, that's where this album lacks otherwise they cannot be any better. Pavan & Vaishnavi are just amazing. Lyrics are apt.

05. Aatanu Adutunnadievaro

Vocalists: S.P.Balasubrahmanyum
Lyricist: Srihari Mangalampalli
Rating: 3/5

Don't know to what genre this song belongs to, it has lot of commotion in it, the instrumentation & lyrics do not synch at all, even singing doesn't belong to the song. Radhakrishnan brings in all that convectional instrumentation & adds some peppy ting with melancholy into it!! so one cannot understand whether it's a fun dance number or a serious situational. Lyrics aren't upto the mark, they need a lot of maturity. As I told before, music is set somewhat in 2000's, so the song sounds out dated for contemporary listeners. Bringing in SPB didn't help a lot to the song, he tries to bring in that peppy flavor, which didn't gel that well with his voice, he sounds weird for the first time!! but we shouldn't forget the way he renders those stanza's after interlude, he sounds perfect there, his expression elevates the song. If not for those peppy notes, he enjoyed singing & of course we will listening to him. If credit has to be shared, no one gets it in the song, may be partially it can be given to SPB for his effort inspite of his age(though which has been never a factor for him). Overall a routine stuff.

Picks Of The Album: Surprisingly none!! with an exception for singers (Chitra, SPB & Sunitha)!!

OVERALL RATING: 6/10

Remarks: We cannot say that, the film has got nothing from KMR, but we can say that his music wouldn't save the film. KMR is in yesteryear's style, that's where he is lacking. He should update himself for appealing to now'a'days audience like Keeravani. Of course his works will'nt be forgotten like Godavari, Anand, Mayabazar, Manasu palike Mouna Raagam etc, but that music will'nt work with present gen listeners. We aren't asking him to deviate from his template, but he has to just bring in that coeval ting. If not for that, it's really great to listen to Chitra & SPB after a long while in his compositions. At last all the best to the film.
