Saaho was theatrically released in India in cinemas and IMAX on 30 August 2019.
What else can be more bigger than this film with a budget of 350 crore !! Saaho realsing yesterday gets some mediocre reviews with lot of positivity among the audience, whatever it is, attempting this film itself is a challenge to the entire unit, atleast for that a big kuddos to the entire unit!!
Coming to the cast, Prabhas who is already a pan-indian star because of baahubali, has left no stone unturned in showcasing his talent to the world. Shraddhha has been an amazing co-star, with her gorgeous beauty she does complete justice to her role. If not for the reviews & critics, film is a must watch, especially for its keen in visualisations & the great VFX.
Coming to the music, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy though announced as initial composers, atlast were given only one song to compose & other songs were shared among other lead composers. While Ghibran gets to compose the background score, which sounded stupendous in the film. As the music required a multi-lingual appeal with a contemporary ting, we cannot expect more from the composers, but lets see how did they fare the songs! Coming to lyrics, many contemporary lyricists were drawn in their respective languages.

01. Psycho Saiyaan

Music: Tanisk Bagchi
Vocalists: Anirudh Ravichandran & Dhwani Bhanushaali
Lyricist: Sreejo
Rating: 3/5

This is the first song which garnered lot of commotion after its' release , listeners were in a confusion whether the song belonged to which language (Telugu/Hindi/Tamil/English), coz' lyrics had a mix of  more of English-Hindi words & very few Telugu words. No offence to the lyricist, he gave what was demanded by the unit, though song sounds amazing after looping on it, it's sad that we have to search for Telugu words in the song. If not for the lyrics, Tanishk gave a perfect club song which sets the mood of listeners to sway & dance along with the tune, his instrumentation is too perfect, those thumping beats & that funky shenayi sound everything strikes first class. Anirudh as usually with his magical voice induces his magical cast over the song, he is such a singer who always tries his best to elevate the mood of the song with his expressions irrespective of the language & genre. Dhawani too sounded stupendous with no issues in pronunciation , as she had nothing to sing in Telugu except very few words. Last postlude is a sure mention. Overall, a perfect pub song with the required pomp & color.

02. Ye Chota Nuvvunna

Music: Guru Randhwa
Vocalists: Haricharan & Tulsi Kumar
Lyricist: Krishna kanth
Rating: 3/5

This is the romantic ballad with a voguish mellifluous tune, which strikes at the first hearing itself. Tune sounds somewhat like a rehash of recent punjabi song yet weaves magic. Guru's instrumentation is perfect, sets the mood of the film. It's really an eye feast to watch the lead actors swaying their legs in those amazing backdrops, which appears like  montage location yet Guru makes sure that his tune is hitting the listeners chord. The second interlude is a solid example for his prowess. Haricharan, all the magic lies in his voice, he sounds just brilliant, especially it makes the listeners to fall in love with his rendition when he renders those two lines "నిన్నలు మరిచేలా నిన్ను ప్రేమిస్తా లే, నీ కన్నులు అలిసేలా నీకు కనిపిస్తాలే". Tulsi Kumar does the prerequisite. KK has nothing much to do with the lyrics, he need to just write few telugu phrases which match that pan-indian tune, with the same situation applying to the rest of the languages. Once again its a perfect melody.

03. Bad Boy

Music: Baadshah
Vocalists: Baadshah & Neeti Mohan
Lyricist: Sreejo
Rating: 3.5/5

This is that song which adds shade to teh high-intense action thriller film with a thumping special song or so called item song featuring the lady in beauty 'Jacquilline fernandezz'! Baadshah know for his raps, offers something interesting here. The instrumentation strikes gold, especially those steel drums & a brilliant shenayi makes it a perfect item number added to all these he brings in the most awaited rap which he is really fond of. He renders it flawless, there is neither a problem to both singers to render telugu song, coz there is ain'nt a telugu word in the song, in the whole song two phrases are in telugu, thats it.  But it's absolutely ok for the newfangled listeners & it should be accepted with no offence, coz this is what required, this is how it should sound. Overall, a song that stays for long & the last interlude is a sure mention.

04. Baby Wont You Tell Me

Music: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy
Vocalists: Shwetha Mohan , Siddharth Mahadevan & Shankar Mahadevan
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth
Rating: 3.5/5

One more uber-cool romantic melody for the lead pair. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy get their due here, I was really excited when I saw their names on the inlay board, but got disappointed after the songs release, but eventually got satisified with this track. This genius trio never leaves any stone unturned to show that they are extremely talented, the second interlude is a solid proof for their brilliance. Siddharth Mahadevan almost sounds like Shankar Mahadevan with a present day ting. The song is really cool & mellifluous. Shwetha Mohan sounds like young Sujatha Mohan, her voice is everything, she's a perfect a fit for the song. Shankar Mahadevan sings in the second interlude I guess & few phrases in the second stanza. It's "కాళ్ళ ముందు ఉంది చూడవా"but shankar sings it as  " కాళ్ళ ముంది ఉండి ".If not for that instrumentation is jaw-dropping. KK's lyrics are sublime, there are some beautiful phrases which provoke love.

- SHANKAR- EHSAAN - LOY

PICKS OF THE ALBUM: Entire Album!!

OVERALL RATING: 6/10

REMARKS: Many listeners questioned the existence of Indian ting to the music in Saaho, but what i felt is these songs are no where wrong or they cannot be any better. We have two love tracks & two peppy numbers which elevate the mood of the film. This is an action film with a hollywood kind appeal, so is the music, here music did'nt lose it's importance or neither will, the BGM by Ghibran gives goosebumps, which is really perfect & songs are done with apt brilliance & cannot be any better. Every song is gem with its'respective situation. Overall a well made album.
