Varane Avashyamund Audio Review- Malayalam (2020)

Movie: Varane Avashyamund- (2020) - ( വരനെ ആവശ്യമുണ്ട് )

Director: Anoop Sathyan

Producer: Dulquer Salmaan

Cast: Dulquer Salmaan ,  Kalyani Priyadarshi, Shobhana & Suresh Gopi

Music: Alphons Joseph

'Varane Avashyamund' is an upcoming Malayalam film starring Dulquer Salmaan & Kalyani Priyadarshi alongside the senior actors Suresh Gopi & Shobhana. It's the debut film of Anoop Sathyan as director, heard that it's a romantic comedy, let's wait & watch how far he was able to succeed.

The Malayalam heart throb Dulquer Salmaan turns to a producer here!! He has recently inaugurated his new production house - "Wayfarer films" & wants to try his luck in that field too!! So wishing him a very ATB for his future endeavours. As we all knew, he has gained enough attention in bollywood too yet he doesn't forget to enthrall his fans from his native, which is really nice.

Coming to the music, it's the singer turned musician "Alphons Joseph" who has been drawn to compose for the film. Let's now fare the album.

01. Nee Vaa En Aarumukha

Vocalists: Karthik & K.S.Chithra
Lyricist: Santhosh Varma & Dr. Kritaya
Rating: 3/5

A song which unites much of the unit's cast. This is a pure traditional track, which is half Tamil & half Malayalam, reminceses Manichitratuzhavu days!! Video song features veteran Shobhana synching lip for the mellifluous song alongside DQ acing through his killer looks. This is a Navaratri song, it speaks about lord Shiva & Parvathy, & those 'Kalipattam Alavu'!! Alphons has nothing much to do, just to make it as traditional as it can be. Lyrics play safe. If at all you ask me what can singers do to enhance a song's flavour, ask them to listen to this one- Karthik & Chithra like usual have lot of grace & maturity, so they sing it with apt perfection. Chithra is a singer who can put in wide range of expressions, so this is ain't an exception for her, she delivers a first class Carnatic number with shear brilliance. If Chithra made it classical with her melodious tone, Karthik makes us feel awe for his kind of rendering & dynamics which just dribble in that melody. Overall, a kick starter to the album. Loved it thoroughly.

02. Mullapoove

Vocalist: Haricharan
Lyricist: Santhosh Varma
Rating: 2/5

This is a simple melody absolutely attributed to the legendary Shobhana Chechi. Song is very simple with minimal instrumentation talking about all the fambam among the cast & the charm around the veteran actress. This song is like the usual mallu styled coeval melody, written in convincing manner.  Tune is of mediocre quality & not that effective. Only saviour in the song is Haricharan, he brings back that exuberance with his amazing voice, if at all this song strikes, it's because of him. Loved the way he has sung.

- SINGER HARICHARAN

03. Unnikrishnan

Vocalist: Alphons Joseph & Sherdin
Rap: Shelton Pinhero & Thirumali
Lyricist: Santhosh Varma & Shelton Pinhero (Rap)
Rating: 1.5/5

This is that fun number entertaining the audience like a background score. Whole songs' playful like that chorus"ting ding ding ding" !! Alphons had nothing much to do except to play few notes on keyboard & fill rest with percussion. A mediocre song aiming at fans. Nothing much about this number.

04. Muthunne Kannukallil

Vocalists: Swetha Mohan & Swetha Somasundaran
Lyricist: Santhosh Varma
Rating: 3.5/5

The opening starts with the greatest classic ever "Maha Ganapathim", then song has got it's own charm & grace. Track is a pure bliss, it's a classical extravaganza!! Alphons has come up with a jaw dropping tune which  surely makes the listeners to sway their heads in merry. This is the track where the elegant dancing beauty "Shobhana" chechi mesmerizes the audience with her adroit moves. Swetha Mohan is absolutely a plus for the song, the dynamics & way of rendering this song results in adrenaline rush. She is such a bliss in the song!! Finally, thanks for everything!!

- SINGER SWETHA MOHAN

05. Oo Yen Neesa

Vocalist: Alphons Joseph & Chorus
Lyricist: Dr. Kritiya
Rating: 2/5

A traditional number with tamil lyrics. A track which speaks about divinity in christianity!! The track like usual is peaceful, calm & soothing, that is how it should sound right!! Lyrics get right, they are written in core accordance to the backdrop. Nothing more about the track, just enjoy the essence.

06. Aadyomorillam

Vocalist: Ann Ammie
Lyricist: Santhosh Varma
Rating: 2/5

A track speaking about the relation b/w a mother & daughter, whole movie is based on that background & such songs are common. Ann Ammie is sweet & cute, her voice suits to t. Alphons like he has nothing to do, just has to play few notes of guitars & add a simple percussion & masters that like a pro, yet the song lacks soul, where the feel is void. Such songs require intense instrumentation rather than soft & calm!! That is where few tracks in the film are still on the boring side. Overall, if you loved the movie, this will never bother, as it lasts just for a minute. Lyricist, needs a pat on his back for the sublime work!!

07. Kuttikurumba

Vocalist: K.S.Chithra
Lyricist: Santhosh Varma
Rating: 3.5/5

One more track falling into the similar genre & backdrop, like the above one. This song has got a ting of every emotion, it makes you laugh, cry & even to feel the intensity. Listening to such a gem after ages is like just beyond extraordinary. Alphons has really got some brilliant composition now, may be this is the best song in the entire album, for the amazing lyrics & lovely vocals.  Santhosh Varma makes it sound as perfect as he can. Chithra is a legend, does she need any introduction or any other flatter to showcase how faultless she is!! Her voice, her expressions, rendition, grace, maturity & more then everything her experience make the song sound like a cabochon. Thanks for everything again!! DQ should get the praises for selecting such a story & for giving such a scope to fit these songs into the film.

- SINGER CHITHRA

08. Muthunne Kannukallil- Female Version

Vocalists: Shwetha Mohan & Chorus
Lyricist: Santhosh Varma
Rating: 3.5/5

If you are a fan of Shwetha Mohan, then this is for you!! If you arent' then get ready to become one!! She's brilliant, like always. Her top notch rendition might be another reason to make a female version of the above song!! This song is like a tribute to the dancing legend- Shobhana Chechi. Film & song is like a hark back to those "Suresh Gopi & Shobhana" days!! One is reminded of 'Manichitratuzhavu' , like I have been saying from the start of the review. It's monotonous, but thank you for everything.

- DANCER & ACTRESS SHOBHANA

09. Oo Yen Neesa- Full Version

Vocalists: Alphons & Chorus
Lyricist: Dr. Kritaya
Rating: 3/5

This jukebox has got a film version & then the audio version, so hence there's a repetition of songs. Dr.Kritaya has done a great job, he has penned an emotional traditional. Any religion, the divinity is same & the emotion is same, Alphons has sung it like a pro. The first stanza brandishes Alphons' prowess. Just enjoy the brilliant composition.

- MUSIC DIRECTOR ALPHONS JOESPH

Picks Of The Album: Kuttikurumba & Muthanne Kannukallil (Both Versions)

OVERALL RATING: 5/10

Remarks: Following the latest trend in the album, the unit has released the jukebox post the films release. Happy that the first film from DQ's production has become the highest grosser in kerala. Congratulations to the entire team. Album is like a nostalgia, music , lyrics, vocals strike gold. Film will be remembered, likewise songs to will be!!
