June 5- World Environment Day

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

World Environment Day (WED) occurs on the 5th of June every year, and is the United Nation's principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of our environment. First held in 1974, it has been a flagship campaign for raising awareness on emerging environmental issues from marine pollution, human overpopulation, and global warming, to sustainable consumption and wildlife crime. WED has grown to become a global platform for public outreach, with participation from over 143 countries annually. Each year, WED has a new theme that major corporations, NGOs, communities, governments and celebrities worldwide adopt to advocate environmental causes.

World Environment Day [WED] was established by the UN General Assembly in 1972 on the first day of the Stockholm Conference on Human Environment, resulting from discussions on the integration of human interactions and the environment. Two years later, in 1974 the first WED was held with the theme "Only One Earth". Even though WED celebration have been held annually since 1974, in 1987 the idea for rotating the center of these activities through selecting different host countries began.

Theme For 2020 Environment Day & It's Importance:

As we all are facing the pandemic right now, most of the countries in lock down & many others in isolation has benefited the nature to an extent.  Like every year on June 5 we celebrate the World Environment Day, the UN General assembly allocates particular theme to every Environment Day. Last year's theme was 'Air Pollution' & this year we are given the theme- 'Celebrating Biodiversity' & which is apt to this situation right now.

Sometimes nature too requires downtime to set itself right. As humans we take everything for granted even the natural resources & nature too. The food we eat , the water we drink, the air we breathe & the luxuries we enjoy & everything are gifts from the 'Mother Earth'!! So we have to respect the nature & understand the value of it, so every year UNGA conducts programs on awareness of environmental protection with varied themes every year.  In the absence of human activity nature is healing itself & setting all its space, so this is the best example of how humans seem to take everything for granted. In these tough times, like pandemic hitting right on the welfare & existence of human life & cyclones damaging the nature, forest fires eating up the treasures of rain-forests in Amazon & Australia, locusts attack on crops in Africa & India- World is facing such a tough time!! So every positive attitude would result in a great outcome, like the theme says it is celebrating biodiversity.

Biodiversity is important for the survival of living being, big or small, huge or tiny!! Ranking of species caries according to the classification, but every living being has to depend on another living being for a network of food chain & cycle, so we here by understand the need & importance of survival & the pivotal role that nature plays in our existence. When the nature is avenged no one could survive atleast, so make sure that we educate ourselves & educate others as well on this auspicious occasion. You all can bring in a change in bit with changing your life style & giving time to nature & it's concerns.

World Environment Day with 'Next Octave Editzz':

Like every year we @NextOctaveditz celebrate 'World Environment Day' with reviews & write ups on different nature related songs- I thought of making it different this year. I came up with some educating posters, posted all through out the article which are solely designed by 'Nextoctaveditz' which aim at educating the viewers & here follows the surprise article.

Every occasion can turn into a celebration if the music is onn!! Like our tagline-  "If you have a heart, then abide by it's rhythm" , celebrate this amazing day with listening songs that you like & by playing music you love. Here are some songs connected to nature that I love the most & attribute to today's theme.

01. The Mother Earth

Album: Green Symphony- 2015
Music: Sharreth
Vocalists: Sharreth & K. S. Chithra
Language: Sanskrit

This song would be an absolute tribute to the mother nature & it would make us realise the importance of it. The picturization just makes us fall in awe for its keen. One who listens to this musical piece would go into trans. If music had the power to capture everyone's heart with its beauty then Shareeth had the greatest weapon to trap the entire beauty with his tuning & Chithra had the power to replicate the waves of nature through her voice!! Just this song is such an amazing piece of work. "It is the time for the nature, give it a break & let it celebrate biodiversity"

02. The Earth Song

Album: Earth Song- 2010
Music: Michael Jackson
Vocalist: Michael Jackson
Language: English

This is just like a song of regret, we all have to regret for committing such heinous crimes which did'nt only effect the nature but to the whole human life itself. Michael Jackson such a great artist who doesn't need any introduction brings in the soul to this song with his rendition. His vocals just bring tears in eyes, he makes us guilty for what all we have done!! May be at least then we will move towards the step of change. Jackson tried to tell about the climate change & tendency of humans to take everything for granted 10 years ago & till today it is the same, hope there comes a day when our children would talk about this song which they would quote just as a illusion & the truth is something different & definitely not like today.
"It is the time for the nature, give it a break & let it celebrate biodiversity"

03.  I Was Waiting For So Long

Album: A New Day Has Come- 2009
Music: Celine Dion
Vocalist: Celine Dion
Language: English

An apt song to the situation right now. Hit by the pandemic & much more we need to instill some positivism & courage to fight all those, so here is that confidence instilling song by Celine Dion( My most favorite artist), A'm a fan!! Who's not!!  Enjoy the day with this number.

"It is the time for the nature, give it a break & let it celebrate biodiversity"

04. Sea

Album: Love Yourself 'Her'
Music: BTS
Vocalists: Jin, Suga, J- Hope, RM, Jimin, V, Junghook
Language: Korean

A'm ain't boasting myself, but truly A'm a big music enthusiast, like I keep searching for new variety of songs & in such a process of forage I came across this song & I literally got struck in awe understanding the philosophy written in the lyrics!! The whole song sums upto a phrase-"Everything is same with a different name that is what we call it a 'life'!!" Truly speaking when I heard it for the first time I never cared about it, but later when I went through the lyrics- I was emotionally connected to this number. There is one more phrase- " No matter if it is a dessert or ocean , everything is same, both the places have struggles & their names are different that's it & that is life again", this translated phrase literally made me think over it again & again!! May be a this is a song which instills positivism in these tough times, may not be directly related to nature but it's extract is much closer to our theme. Hope you all will like it.

"It is the time for the nature, give it a break & let it celebrate biodiversity"
