'Dil Bechara' is a coming-of-age romantic drama film directed by Mukesh Chabbra. This film which was initially commenced on July 9, 2018 had got multiple dates of release & kept postponing for various reasons. Now it is all set to release on OTT Platform- Disney+Hotstar for all the subscribers & non-subscribers on July 24, 2020 as a tribute to the gone talent- Sushanth Singh Rajput.
May be this is the first film releasing posthumously for Sushanth. It is absolutely sad and heart- wrenching to mourn his death through this film. He has given his best in all most every film that he has acted! But destiny always has it's own faith written! Cutting it here, this film is a lovely coming-of-age drama which deals with the chemistry between the lead pair who are suffering from their own health ailments. If you have to know what all the film has in the store for us, than you have to watch it for sure.
Coming to the audio, the musical maestro 'A. R. Rahman' has been on the board to compose for the film & all the lyrics penned by Amitab Battacharya. This lovely love story has got 8 tracks & one instrumental. So with not much delay let us peep into the album. Here we go!
01. Dil Bechara- Title Track
Vocalist: A. R. Rahman
Rating: 2.5/5
Here is the absolutely brilliant composition in all the recent times! It has got all the shades within it, there is pop, melody, electronic & fast beat too. Rahman is known for his experimentation & this song is nothing less than a contrivance. No one- literally no one expects a soft melodious tune for the title track, especially when there is lot of dance happening on the screen, but as I told before Rahman finds his ways, he starts the song on a much lighter note humming "Dil Bechara" and then the tale continues. Amitab Battacharya brings in the flavor of contemporary romance with his 'Hinglish (Hindi + English) lyrics'! They don't sound creep but they are given a coeval touch to match the backdrop that's it. Rahman's singing is apt & his tuning too is good, especially bringing in the old-school beats changes the song's mood. Overall it is a good number, strikes at the first attempt itself.
02. Taare Ginn
Vocalists: Mohith Chauhan & Shreya Ghoshal
Rating: 2/5
Here is a romantic melody with lot of Rahmanism taking over it! One who listens to this number is pretty sure about the composer even without turning on to the inlay card, cause everything here is in Rahman's template. There are lot of ups & downs in the song, it is like listening to 3 songs together in one song itself, first stanza is melodious, second one has got a different pace & the second interlude is woven with percussion giving it a mystic palate. Go listen to the track & come back to co-relate my words with your feelings! Lyrics have nothing much to do with, they are on a safer side. Mohith Chauhan- (Rahman's favorite) gets a lovely track & the versatile Shreya Ghoshal accompanies him pretty much well. Here the vocalists are made to sing in different pitches, Shreya gets a fast track with a different octave & Mohith gets to sing the actual song- but when comparisons are drawn Shreya scuffles to sing those higher octaves, she fades away with the loud instrumentation! At last it is a yay for all the Rahman fans & a nah for all the non- Rahman fans.
03. Khulke Jeene Ko
Vocalists: Arijith Singh & Shahasha Tripati
Rating: 2.5/5
The tale of 'Dil Bechara' on a lighter note! In short I meant this song has explored the 3/4rth of the film's plot! This is such a gripping song, it is sure to make you snap your fingers & tap your feet. The rhythm pattern of the song is set on top notch. Lyrics help take the 'Song- Tale' ahead. (Shahasha & Arijith)'s voices blended so very well, they sound absolutely brilliant. Shahasha sounds much as pretty as picture- like she herself describes her voice- it is a mixture of Chinmaye's husky tone & Chitra's style, on the face of it, it's true! One more track that hits you instantly.

04. Maskhari
Vocalists: Hriday Gattani & Sunidhi Chauhan
Rating: 2/5
This track too falls in the above genre and all the points here go to the excellent instrumentation! The beats are 'Rahmanish' and the tuning is foot- tapping. 'Maskhari' is a Marathi word- which means 'Joke' and it is used very intellectually by the lyricist in the song. This track is celebrating love and chemistry between the leads. It has got all the charm to bring in the party relish. Sunidhi Chauhan is back after a long time & she sounded damn good & also an extension of praises to Hriday Gattani. Much recommended song- it is good, can give a try!
05. Friendzone
Vocalists: A. R. Rahman & Chorus
Rating: 3/5
Here is the extended or reprise version of the title track- Dil Bechara. This is much fast paced and the instrumentation goes with the tempo. Rahman sounds amazing, he is pro in singing all such-es. If comparisons are drawn this is great, but to my personal opinion both sounded good, cause the above one was different- a slow pace with pop tune is offbeat & which deserves the pat for the newfangled angle.
06. Main Tumhara
Vocalists: Hriday Gattani & Jonita Gandhi
Rating: 1.5/5
Is this the extension to 'Jaage Hain' from Guru? Rahman has brought all the convectional elements into the song but it didn't save the track. Track is much slower than usual & much lite- hearten than usual. Except for the vocalists, this song needs no hype at all. More than a love ballad this sounds like a lullaby! If your a fan of all distinct compositions, then this is for you!
07. Afreeda
Vocalists: Sanna Moussa & Rajakumari
Rating: 2/5
Is this 'Maiyaa Maiyya- 2'? OMG! Rahman is rehashing his own tunes! Sounds a bit awkward. Always human brain seems to compare, so there is a possibility of thinking this as a rehash of his yesteryear's chartbuster- Maiyya Maiyya otherwise this is a cool track. It sounds damn good! Those sufi dynamics & Arabian beats make the song a lively number. The soul is intact here. One cannot get through the backdrop with the lyrics, but surely this is a dance number- if A'm ain't wrong- there is some belly dance or pole dance happening on the screen! Both the vocalists do a commendable job, surprised to listen to Rajakumari in Rahman's composition!
08. Mera Naam Kizzie
Vocalists: Aditya Narayan & Poorvi Koutish
Rating: 1/5
One more eminently forgettable song! Lyrics offer nothing new, tune is the same it didn't change- truly it sounded like a rhyme. Vocalists save it again here too! Again if you love contemporary hindi numbers than this is for you!
09. The Horizon Of Saudade
Instrumental
Rating: 2/5
Again it is 'Dil Bechara- The Title track'! But this cannot be overlooked, it sounds wonderful. The genius composer has too many tunes for the same track! Astonishing! This is sure to bring in the right amount of expressions while watching the film on the screen. The lovely violin evokes all the emotion in the track!
