'V'- is a Telugu language film which got an OTT release on Sep 5, 2020 after so many post-pones & pre-pones. This film directed by the 'Ashta Chamma' fame Mohan Krishna & featured almost same cast from his yesteryear's films. Sudheer Babu & Adithi acted in his recent hit film Sammohanam & Nani- Niveditha in 'Gentleman' & now the cast got just a shift in positions. Nani got a negative shade character in this film & Sudheer Babu getting to act the protagonist role with the lady protagonists interchanging their roles with the lead characters. 

So, this is about the film, you all know how it's doing in the market, I think everyone would have watched it on Amazon Prime. May be this is the first huge budget Telugu film that initiated the plan of releasing the film via OTT platform , but these OTT platforms getting maximum attention is'nt oozing the interest of movie goers to watch it in theaters, coz nothing can match the experience & comfort that a movie theater can give!! So, hope this pandemic ends soon & we get to watch movies in theaters & we get to talk about more & more good films!!

Coming to the music, it is composed by the Bollywood sensation 'Amit Trivedi' & this is his 3rd straight film in Telugu. Lyrics getting the help of legendary Seetharama Sastry is something much exciting. Film features 4 tracks, so with no more delay let's fare the album!

01. Vasthunna Vachestunna

This is the first track of the album! This song has so much to tell & something keeps happening every second in the song! It's thumping & electrifying, the percussion & guitars keep banging & surprisingly a melody is kept as a tune to such orchestration- it isn't weird but completely unique! Many music lovers actually disliked the song for it's different rhythm pattern & strange composition & lyric, even I was one among them, but this song shouldn't be underrated! Amit is ample of talent, he knew how to fit in a song to the backdrop, if you have watched the film you can just realize the importance of such atypicality in the song. Coz, there are actually two tracks happening in the film & this song has to be perfect for both the situations & so is the song, it cannot be much better than this! 

Speaking about the song, Seetharama sastry gaaru knows very well how to pen such typical songs- I'm no one to point out his lyric- it is different but yet this is how it should be! "ఉసి కొడుతున్న, ఊహల ఉబలాటం, ఇప్పటి ఈ ఒప్పందాలే ఇబ్బందులు తప్పించాలే " are some of the phrases which caught my eye! Composition is fine- I told it already! Shreya Ghoshal the princess offscreen- this veteran singer always amazes with her sizzling vocals, she was definitely that icing on cake to this song, loved her rendition- it was flawless! Surprisngly, Anurag did the backing, he stood backside in the chorus & sang that additional vocals part!! Amit had issues singing Telugu though he brought in the right expression his accent couldn't sustain the feel of the song. Overall it was a typical song!! I loved it!!

02. Ranga Rangeli

This is a party song which comes almost towards the pre- climax in the film! I know it was just a filler in the film, to increase the length of film we will have such songs which have no repeat value, but I don't think even the lyric should also sound like that! I can truly say that the lyric is such a creep- I don't know how come this lyricists get such words which just fill in the space!! " మజా మజా కాళ్ళాగజ్జ సైఆట ఆడి క్లైమాక్స్ వేడి పెంచేద్దామా?" what!! what was that!! We knew that the film is brimming towards the climax with this song & the writer need not assure us with such creep!! Leaving it apart, tune was there because the director asked for it & singers sang because they have to sing- I can say that much about this song!! We are really bored of such songs, pl we expect some quality content!!

03. Manasu Mari

This is one more from Amit!! It sounds uber cool! This is a romantic ballad with such pleasant words taking the pace!! The tune is really amazing, it suits to the T! We can just visualize Nani & Adithi's romance even without watching it, such is the impact of words!! When someone asks what can a lyric do to a song, ask them to listen to this! I loved the fusion of westernized tuning & traditional way of writing Telugu words- it sounded sonorous. All the pat to the writer- "వయసు మరి వింతగా విస్తుబోతున్నది , కిలాడీ కోమలి గులేబకావళి " only he can write such words!!

                                                 

 Amit & Shahaasha lend their hand in hands & take us to trans with their poetic renditions!! Overall a neatly made song!

04. Baby Touch Me Now

The first song in the film! A perfect clubsong- the actors performed above par in the film & the song too takes us into the mood! It is refreshing!! nothing much about the song, it has a perfect rhythm & tune!!

OVERALL RATING: 4/ 10

Remarks: Album is inconsistent, though only two songs would click & the rest are just passable, it was fine- not too bad!! But I still regret the lyric that "Ranga Rangeli" song has got!! May be if the song would have got some better lyrics it would have got a decent score atleast! Likewise Mohan's films always had a great scope for the music, I expected such compositions here too, but one song screwed up & the other one was just fine & other two are good enough-  So the problem is with the direction & plot, not with the composer. Hoping the best from Amit in future & wishing the entire team of V a very hearty congratulations for the success!
