'Meri Pukaar Suno'- Single Audio Review- Hindi (2021)

MERI PUKAAR SUNO

- EK JAHAAN..EK UMMEED..EK WAADA

"Meri Pukaar Suno" is the latest single released on 25, June 2021 as a "World Music Day" remembrance, composed by the "Music maestro" A. R. Rahman, written by the legendary Gulzaar Saahab & performed by various renowned playback singers of India.

It is a lullaby that Mother Earth itself is singing as an appeal & gratitude note to the almighty for the life that exists on this Earth! There is a strong message saying that despite the darkness, despair & agony there is always the sunshine, we will heal together no matter where the situation goes!! - A bow to Gulzaar saahab for bringing in such thought provoking poetry!

In these tough times, where literally lives of thousands had been shattered into minute chunks, in these times where situation has become helpless, in these times where an entire nation is fighting for the 'FREEDOM', freedom from the deadly virus, freedom from despair & depression. For such times, Rahman & Gulzaar ji have come up with a beautiful prayer song which will instill hope & strength within the shattered lives!!

Through the song:

It is always a blessing to hear to the work produced from legends- Rahman  ji & Gulzaar ji! When ever they came together, some magic happened & the same magic recreates this time too! So happy to watch the legends come together again for a great cause!

Song: Meri Pukaar Suno

Composer: A. R. Rahman

Lyricist: Gulzaar

Vocalists: K. S. Chithra, Alka Yagnik, Sadhana Sargum, Shreya Ghoshal, Shahsha Tripati, Asees Kaur & Armaan Malik

Music Label: Sony Music India

Rating: 4/5

As the album says it is an anthem of hope & healing in the voices of some iconic singers of India & it is absolutely true!! Gulzaar Saahab made it brilliant with really some sublime phrases that perfectly stipulate a prayer anthem!

"Vada Hain Vada Suraj Nahi Bujega,
Vada Hain Vada Dariya Nahi Rukenge,
Tare Hain Tere Aaftab Tu Hai,

Teri Umeedein Ye Zameen Zinda Hain,
Yeh Zameen Zinda Rahe"

The above phrases are a solid example to showcase how great legend is Gulzaar Saahab!! When entire song goes to a different elevation with those four lines & Armaan does it amazingly superb, Song gets a hit talk rightly there!!

A. R. Rahman, tries to make the song as much sweet & soft as he can, as it it is a lullaby & a prayer track , but reminds me of his very recent compositions of 99 songs, "Oh Ashiqua" & "Shiridi Sai", also a ting of  "O Paalanhaare" & "Nammakamiyyara" !! At the initial hearing we have such a feeling & eventually that feeling is lost, may be due to the fresh in the lyrics & voices! However the balance is perfect & at last the track ends with a bliss!

"Meri Pukaar Suno" Hits New York LA Billborads

A prayer song has got the blend of some really iconic voices of India- Chithra, Alka Yagnik, Sadhana, Shreya Ghoshal, Shahasha, Asees & Armaan is a huge line up really. No matter what is the duration of song & how many singers sing the track, towards the end, there is only one voice & one hope !! However a listener ends in trans.

Chithra, Shreya Ghoshal & Sadhana Sargum get the maximum share in the song. How nice it is to listen to Shreya & Chithra together! Chithra sounds still the same, she has'nt lost any magic! Years to come, but she sounds excellent, no matter what happens but her voice  has that magic. It is like a celebration to all her fans, as she is back to Bollywood after many years & that too in Rahman Sir's compositions. This song, she has a special added attraction- her voice is pellucid. Her expressions are chanceless, only she, only she can sing like that! Kuddos to her, bowing to a legend!! Hope we listen to her in future again & again.

Shreya Ghoshal. the princess offscreen as I always call her, does her best. Her voice is on top notch. Every time she sang alongside Chithra maa , it sounded like bliss to the listeners. Both the voices have that ethereal quality! Sadhana ji too equally sounds great!! Every time she sang, equally gave me spine chills!!

Alka Yagnik sounds a bit more aged, she lost the magic. But her voice was'nt unbearable though, she did the prerequisite. She sounds like Lataji in late 20's, her voice has become thick & much elderly, may be all those low octaves that she is singing sounded pale & dull. Shahasha & Asees just get one or two lines in the song, but Shahasha makes her magic clearly pellucid.

Armaan Malik, gets his part limpid. He has got some worthy share. Out of so many female singers, he is the only male singer & does everything with flying colors out!! All his fans might be celebrating, as he gets to sing in a huge project that too with Rahman ji, Gulzaar Saahab & Chithraji getting involved in it. An epic composition, gets an epic finale with his vocals.

Overall this song is a "Combination of iconic voices & an absolute devotion!!"
