Before I begin, thank you for the great feedback, love & affection for Pushpa audio review.

"ATRANGI RE" is a hindi-tamil language upcoming film starring Tamil Superstar Dhanush alongside Akshay Kumar & Sara Ali Khan. Slated for an OTT release via Disney+ Hotstar on 24/12/21. After Raanjhanaa, this is the second colab of Aanand Rai, Dhanush & A. R. Rahman. The tamil version "Galatta Kalyanam" too gets a direct OTT release on the same day. Will review both the albums one on one.

ARR in Bollywood after many days is always a great sigh that a music lover gets. Like Raanjhanaa this film too is confederated with some great music. Aanand Rai had always a keen on extracting the best from the composers & when it's Rahman, what else is left to extract but just wait for the magic to unfold.

Rahman had originally composed tunes for Hindi version later dubbed into Tamil, but they appear like two different albums with same tunes, maybe because of the alteration in lyrics & vocals. If it was some 90's or 20's definitely we would have heard to starstudded line up of vocals starting with Lataji, Uditji, Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Sonu Nigam, Chitraji, Shukwinder Singh & others. But it's a problem with music label which focuses only on trends & views rather than the prerequisites. Truly I find atleast 2-3 songs which demand the above voices. However contented that Shreya Ghoshal & Arijith Singh are here!

Directly into the album.

01. Garda 🌟

Vocalist: Daler Mehndi
Rating: 4/5

Audience say that the "Rang De Basanti" vintage style Rahman is back! But what I opine is "Rahman's the same then or now, no need of any vintage comebacks,he's been always that consistent"! This song & that voice, a knees-up kind number is here. Rahman for sure is the one among, for to long on & loop on the movie. I cannot say any more, song is absolutely brilliant. I wonder how this man manages to bring in such new catchy numbers every now & then even after 3 decades of continual up & running. Daler Mehndi, the rockstar just rocks the song with his electrifying vocals which categorically justify Irshad Kamil's lyrics. This song is a top notch with many surprise elements, especially audience enjoying & praising Akshay Kumar for his performance. Go, add this one to your playlists.

02. Chakka Chakk 🌟

Vocalist: Shreya Ghoshal
Rating: 4.5/5

The magical number of the album which is on a roll setting unprecedented views on YouTube!! Need I have anything left to tell about this? Probably not a one! Rahman sahab composing an out & out folk-peppy Bollywood song like "Nannare" or "Chalka Chalkare" is something for which all the concertgoers exclusively wait for! & here comes an end to all that waiting, this track hits us all instantly, utterly catchy & foot tapping. The instrumentation is something that needs all the credits which is made of nobel quality, the percussions, beats & the Chennai styled Nadaswaram & Kolatam beats add much savour to the song.
Shreya Ghoshal, the queen is here to season the song!! One will fall in short of words to praise this veteran for her rendition, she's just amazing is a small word! Her serene voice which has an unalloyed girly ting makes us go bonkers, she's brilliant & that's enough to tell what she's doing to Indian cinema all these years! Nothing more, thank you ARR & Shreya Ghoshal for happening to us. Special mention to the lyricist, Irshad Kamil- every line hits different.

03. Rait Zara Si 🌟

Vocalists: Arijith Singh & Shaasha Tirupati
Rating: 4.5/5

Yet another blockbuster in the album. The very first attempt itself hits too hard, maybe the lyrics, vocals or tuning everything synchronised too well. Rahman is a genius no doubt, he fuses folk with a ting of Hindusthani & western beautifully. Those percussions sounded damn good. A love ballad & who else can croon it as good as Arijith & Shaasha. Arijith the king of romantic anthems gives a great comeback with this number- (should I term it Love anthem?) Probably I should! One more chartbuster that's gonna stay in the playlists for long.

04. Tere Rang

Vocalists: Haricharan, Shreya Ghoshal & Chorus
Rating: 3.5/5

Yet another haunting number. This album is full of surprises, one song dominating the other, it's tough to choose one best!! This is a true masterpiece. In past we heard such brilliant numbers from Rahman in Swades, Jodha Akbar, Guru, Raanjhanaa, Taal, Lagaan etc & now this is no exception to all those. A fusion of Hindusthani & Carnatic- with traces of Raag Mishr & Mallika is really exciting, my heart filled with happiness listening to such  expertise of dynamics, classical notes & instrumentation in the track. Haricharan & Shreya Ghoshal hands in hands take this number to heaven, they are blissful. Their mellifluous rendition just evokes purity in love. Shreya Ghoshal deserves the special credits for that effortless rendering of those typical dynamics. Finally, a Rahman styled number that's winning hearts & he deserves everything for this track.

05. Tumhein Mohabbatt

Vocalist: Arijith Singh
Rating: 3 .5/5

Back to those days of Dilse, Ada. A melancholic track accompanied with a beautifully unruffled guitar notes. Appears easy too be heard but actually is very difficult to be rendered. Arijith Singh is the icing on cake, he's just awesome nevertheless. The way he renders each line with lot of grace & cram of expressions, unveils why he is being hailed by thousands. That last saakhi of the song is just melting, only Arijith can sing it like that, may be many laurels awaiting for him in the store for this extremely tough number. Rahman- the person behind all the magic! Looking for some cool music with sublime lyrics, then this is for you.

06. Toofan Si Khudi

Vocalists: Rashid Ali & Chorus
Rating: 3.5/5

An out & out peppy number that sets the mood for a good dance. That's kids chorus reminds me of those Bombay movie songs! Rashid Ali gets a very minimal space in the track but he makes best use of it. This is a typical Rahman template & definitely will not click for the first attempt, but the second & third will impress like never before.

07. Little Little 🌟

Vocalists: Dhanush, Hiral Viradia & Chorus
Rating: 5/5

The album bids a finale with a blockbuster song completely in Rahman's style. Dhanush rendering it is an added attraction, loved his swag in the entire track. Leads of the film getting boozed & then some Rahman-ish guitar notes taking a kick start, slowly bringing in the mellow waves with vocals & finally rocking the stage with thumping beats & the best ever harmony in the world, this what sums up to the entire song!! I though danced my heart out when I heard the harmony towards the end.

Feeling nostalgic, Rahman sir is back with a bang. Surely this movie is gonna take home awards , sorry Rahman sir's gonna take all the awards. You won our hearts, This album makes me emotional, every song hit the chord instantly! Thank you Rahman sir!!
