Galaatta Kalyaanam Audio Review-Tamil (2021)

Movie: Galaatta Kalyaanam (2021)

Director: Aanand L Rai

Production: Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar

Cast: Dhanush, Akshay Kumar & Sara Ali Khan

Music: A. R. Rahman

Music Label: T- Series Tamil

"Galaatta Kalyaanam" the tamil version of Atrangi Re too deserves a review. ARR the magician, was waiting for this opportunity, as I told this particular album deserves vocals of ARR's troupe- Lataji, Uditji, Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Sonu Nigam, Chitraji, Shukwinder Singh & others. But T-Series Bollywood will never make it happen again.
But tamil version of the album abides by ARR's decisions & hence the legends make this album epic & showcase what would have been the impact if Bollywood too choose the similar line-up of singers.

I didn't mean tamil version is better than hindi, but it's equally great- because the vocalists make an added impact. Opinions & judgements apart, into the album.

01. Mannarkudi

Vocalist: Mano
Lyricist: Madhan Karky
Rating: 3/5

After listening to the original version this might sound a bit weird because of the non-synch in lyrics, but in my opinion cannot be any better. Mano is back with a bang, those "Mukkala Muqabla", "Thillana Thillana", "Kannum Kannum Kolliyadithal", "Aayirathil Naan Oruvan", "Mona Mona" etc etc & the never ending list goes on., One more feather into that amazing combination. Lyrics & singing in this track is quite a miss match for the Hindi audience but a good track for the Tamizh audience. Finally it's nice to listen Mano sir with Rahman sir again.

Singer 'Mano'

02. Chakka Chakkalathi 🌟

Vocalist: Shreya Ghoshal
Lyricist: Yugabharathi
Rating: 4.5/5

Wedding songs & ARR- match made by almighty! This song is a special one, created sensation in North & is coming to South, that always sounds weird, coz neither north songs sound good in south languages or vice versa, but this song is an exception, maybe the album entirely. Sara Ali Khan setting the screens on fire with her rocking performance & Shreya Ghoshal's lilting vocals add on to the song.

Shreya Ghoshal- this singer will never fail to impress, whatever it is, irrespective of the language, tune & lyric she's always the one singer who out shines crystal clear. She's been singing since 2 decades & still that voice gives goosebumps to me everytime I listen to her in a new song, simply the beauty of music ❤️ . Like the hindi version this song hits rightly there at the first instance.

Singer 'Shreya Ghoshal'

04. Kaadhalai Solla 🌟

Vocalists: Yazin Nizar & Shaasha Tirupati
Lyricist: Kabilaan
Rating: 4/5

The romantic anthem of the album here in Tamil comes as a disguise & impresses thoroughly. Yazin is just awasome, for the first ever time collaborating with the legend ARR & ofcourse does it with flying colors out. Shaasha the angel with a beautiful voice, am her fan! Lyrics make a change here, they are written as if for an original composition rather than giving a thought of it being a dubbed version & that's where the album wins.
Singer 'Shaasha'

04. Murali Mogha 🌟

Vocalists: Haricharan, K. S. Chithra & Chorus
Lyricist: Rohini
Rating: 4/5

'Tere Rang' when done in Tamil sounds as different as 'Murali Mogha'!! Rahman avarkal the genius, I keep telling this, in past many numbers of such were made & got praised too, this's nothing new, but for sure this's something different, there is a soul in the composition & that soul drives the rest. The legendary Chithramma is back with one more tamil number & that too in a collab with ARR. Haricharan & Chithra make it a blockbuster show with their pre-eminent renditions. Those brighas that Chithra sings with ease are something to note, she has got in the additional flavour to the song with her own kind of singing, those extra dynamics, brighas, sangathis towards the end of the song, which the original version didn't have are something to note & makes it pellucid the reason behind her successful career longing more than 42 years of singing, I repeat singing !! Overall it's a treat to Rahman sir fans to listen to the Chinna Kuyil singing again to him after 'Malargal Kaetten" & reminiscing all the magic that has happened & is being happening. Rohini wrote the lyrics? Strange I never knew that she's such a prolific writer too!!

Singer 'Chithra'

05. Ithuthaan En Kaadhai

Vocalist: Srinivas
Lyricist: Kabilaan
Rating: 2.5/5

I completely go with the original version in comparison to this one. Arijith Singh had that authority to take in charge of the song & make his' own, I mean he literally owned it- that's where the vocals dominated the music & stood a mile alart gaining a point & that's absolutely lacking here! Though Srinivas being a legendary singer, singing it like his usual best, but still I dunno this version cannot make through all of it. But if you love to enjoy the Tamil version, that's your choice, go ahead.

06. Sooravali Ponnu

Vocalists: A. R. Ameen & Chorus
Lyricist: Vivek
Rating: 3/5

Once again I go with the original version in comparison to this one. The lyrics didn't synch well- they were out of tempo here & there at places. But it's quite a good track in no comparison. Ameen had a childish ting in his voice, but that's gone! He sounds damn mature here! Hoping to listen more from him in future!

07. Little Little 🌟

Vocalists: Dhanush, Sharanya & Chorus
Lyricist:. Dhanush
Rating: 5/5

My most favourite number in the album. Some Kolavari Di refferences in lyrics & that's more exciting for all Dhanush's fans. His deep voice has got some attractive ting & that's more captivating. Loved the song! You'll enjoy this for sure.

Picks Of The Album: In Tamil version I made few choices- Chakka Chakkalathi, Little Little, Murali Mogha & Kaadhalai Solla

OVERALL RATING: 7.5/10
