Bheemla Nayak Audio Review- Telugu (2022)

Movie: Bheemla Nayak (2022)- భీమ్ల నాయక్

Director: Sagar K Chandra

Production House: Sithara Entertainments

Cast: 'Powerstar' Pawan Kalyan, Rana Daggubati, Nithya Menon, Samyuktha Menon & Others

Music: S. S. Thamman

"Bheemla Nayak" is the telugu adaptation of yesteryear Malayalam blockbuster- 'Ayyapanum Koshiyan' with principal cast of Prithviraj & Bijju Menon. Many had different views regarding the remake but a small glimpse of Bheemla Nayak just shattered everyone's doubts into a trash can, portraying the furious side of Powerstar. That haunting BGM "La La Bheemla" literally made all of us go bonkers about it.

Needless every film that Pawan chooses or does will result in euphoria irrespective of the output, same continues with this film too. Slated to release on Feb 25, 2022. Rana Daggubati in the film is an added attraction, will have to wait to witness the rampage. The film initially planned for a Sankranti release but kept on postponing due to unforeseen circumstances.

The best thing ever happened to this film is music being composed by S. S. Thamman!! Now-a-days he is just unmatchable, music he is composing is really reaching heights, so there he is, the no.1 composer of TFI at present!! Kudos, hardwork always pays off!!

All the power star fans eagerly waited for that BGM score, but releasing the rest other songs didn't go well with the fans which resulted in mixed reviews of the songs, but in my personal opinion, songs cannot be any better when compared to the original, Thamman really worked hard & his sweat is pellucid. As per the prerequisites of the backdrop, songs or OST cannot be any better than this, if fans expected alot & got disappointed, then the blame shouldn't go onto the crew members, coz they worked really hard, especially Thamman - his heart & soul is here, in the album, I thoroughly enjoyed the album.

Moghlaiah who sang a song in this film, was brought to limelight & had been famous off-late, was awarded with Padma Shri by Indian government this year for his contributions to Telangana folk music. Congratulations to him. Chitra got to sing a song in the film & that's a surprise. She was hailed & praised for her brilliance in rendering the beautiful love track with ease.

A total of 7 songs, five of which were released individually. Released the other song during Pre- Release event & the other is the direct release in the theater. This film had been on a different route from day 1 itself. They announced a postpone very unexpectedly & a release date was also announced just 10 days before the actual date of commencement. Pre- release being planned on 21,Feb without a trailer release even or atleast  promotions!! Hatsoff to the guts! No advance booking with Book My Show, & back to those olden days where we saw people in lines for buying tickets at theaters.

All the rumours, criticism, comments aside, let's fate the album by just taking music & only music into consideration.

01. Bheemla Nayak Title Song

Vocalists: Moghlaiah, Prithvi Chandra, Sri Krishna, Ram Miryala & Chorus
Lyricist: Ramjogayya Sastry
Rating: 3.5/5

This protagonist elevating song or so called 'Introduction Song' is sure a piece of awe! It is something that came from no where, i.e., an out of box composition & something that no one expected. Thamman took it to a different elevation, song had all the pomp & colour to absolutely sink into the storyline as well give some chills to all the PSPK fans too! Ramjo has written the song upto the demand & he is known for that, now we understand why he is the number 1 in pening all those commercial numbers. Every phrase in the song had an elevation, attitude & swag which is thoroughly enjoyed by PSPK fans.

The vocalists did a commendable job, Moghlaiah a Telangana region Sarangi vidhwaan & folk singer, had got an opportunity to introduce the hero to the audience with his rustic vocals & that saakhi part of the song does really well. Instrumentation of Thamman is praiseworthy, all the percussions sounded great, every note hit the chord. The haunting BGM throughout gives some sinister effect & makes us discern the fact that it is not just a song that's playing as a filler but also giving enough attention to the screenplay & storyline. The enchanting choir group singing "Bheem Bheem Bheemla Nayak" sounded sonorous, all the phrases where Ram Miryala sang were of top notch quality, his voice, range & expression literally shined!! No wonder in saying, anyone loops the song just to listen to those phrases where Ram Miryala sang!! More than anything, I loved the classic preludes & interludes, all of them stand out. In my opinion song cannot be any better, absolutely brilliant orchestration, some top notch singing & good lyrics, make it a perfect song, I meant there is no deviation, the storyline yet the commercial aspect both stood side on side, so Kudos,a great song! Thamman deserves all the laurels for this song.

02. Antha Ishtam

Vocalist: K. S. Chitra
Lyricist: Ramjogayya Sastry
Rating: 4/5

Here comes a soothing melody in Thamman's template. I think this is the replacement of 'Kalakattha' song in the original. This is a complete female oriented solo, I think a genre that is coming back to Telugu audience after years. It's just cool & breezy, for the first time I heard such a breezy romantic cum folk number sung for Pawan Kalyan. Ramjo deserves all the credits, his lyrics took the number to a different altitude. Every phrase made us to stop the track & think of it for a while, my favourite phrases in the song are: "యే తల్లి కన్నదో నిన్ను కోటి కలలకు రారజై వెలిసావంట", "నా మెళ్లోని నల్లపూసల్లో మణి పూసవే", "యే పూట పుటినవో నువ్వు అది అచ్చం గా పున్నమే అయ్యిఉంటాదంట". As I said, a track with all limitations & yes it's true. Thamman at his best, the tune sounded too good!

Not a retro themed track, but Chitra singing this number came as a surprise! She has that ability to captivate hearts with her ethereal voice, though she's singing very little now'a'days, can't deny the fact that when she sings, she makes sure that no song in the album matches her aura. Absolutely a legendary show, that mellifluous & flawless rendition made me go bonkers.
This song is like a fusion of western & folk beat. The way Chitra Gaaru pronounces those words "బలశాలి, కూసింత, ఈసింత" , 'translucent & crystal clear' - she differentiates b/w 'స & శ', like none other native singer would does! Hatsoff to her dedication. Like always her high pitched notes strike gold. Chitramma, the respect for this ace singer, always goes up but never turns down! Hope she entertains us with many more such numbers & thanks to Thamman for choosing the right singer for the right song!

03. Laalaa Bheemla

Vocalist: Arun Koundinya
Lyricist: Trivikram
Rating: 3.5/5

This is the moment, this is the song, this is the beat that all PSPK's fans were eagerly waiting for!! In that longing, actually they have forgot to appreciate some good songs like the above one, untill this song, none of the cults could literally wait, they were constantly fighting for this' release in twitter & the production team could do nothing but, obey to them!! Pawan's fans are someone who are always crazy & they prove it everytime!!
Actually this is a remake movie & so is the song, but the Malayalam version had a very minute bit of OST at that particular backdrop & our people thought of using the same in the telugu version. But that few seconds BGM rose to a rage & they were forced to make a full song & so this song is here!

Thamman literally rocks the ear drums, it is like he's striking on the ear drum & not the drum actually!! My goodness, what sort of energy is that, what sort of tone it is??!! One word- GOOSEBUMPS!! We can actually feel the vibe, one can easily guess the scenario at the big screen when their hero has got such an out & out mass beat like this one!! Let's wait & watch what Pawan has in store for us, Am sure he would have had set the screens on fire. Thamman gets all the pats for such good orchestration, it's thumping & bumping.
"Lyrics by Trivikram??!! Is it true??!!" Yes it's true, Trivikram for the first ever time pens a song & that too with flying colors out. Every phrase would literally make PK's cults go bonkers!! I have nothing much to tell about this rocking number. Arun needs the credits for such high pitched performance, the clarity in his voice has got no boundaries, absolutely confident & brilliant!!- Kudos to the team- Purely a song aimed at masses!!

04. Adavi Thalli Maata

Vocalists: Saahithi Chaaganti & Kummari Durgavva
Lyricist: Ramjogayya Sastry
Rating: 3/5

A pure situational is here with some rustic tuning & raw vocals. Absolutely would elevate the situation. A very small track, but makes an impact. Ramjogayya plays safe, he has made it a bit more commercial rather than making it upto the content. Thamman is good. Vocalists do the justice. A fine number, no more comments needed.
Lyricist "Ramjogayya Sastry"

05. Laalaa Bheemla- DJ Version

Vocalists: Arun Kaudinya
Lyricist: Trivikram
Rating: 2.5/5

Same version of the above one with some added percussions & beats. This is more of unwanted breaks, intentional abruptions & a bit of repetition of phrases, so called DJ version in Thamman's style, rather cannot blame him though, yet his best however, but will'nt appeal as the above version is much powerful & sonorous.

06. Dum Dum Dum

Vocalists: Sri Krishna & Manisha
Lyricist: Masala Shyaam
Rating: 3.5/5

A perfect song highlighting the forest theme to core. Excellent blend of voices & music. Though the tune is an effective inspiration of Malayalam popular Mojo version- Rasayyayyo- a song attributed to Tribal people, may be that's the reason to bring in such tune here, however the BGM worked so well, the visuals & the song were of top notch experience to the audience. Manisha's voice was something that literally shook the entire theater, her voice had all the power to captivate everything. Sri Krishna gets to sing the Sanskrit Slokam "Bhilli Bhalladulayaka" & he renders it with brilliance & towards the end the song fuses with a classic surgum of "Endaro Mahanubhaavulu" to everyone's awe. Hats off to Thamman for such great music.

07. Oo Sandamavva

Vocalists: Mohana Bhogaraju
Lyricist: Kasarla Shyam
Rating: 4/5

A complete situational & watch the film to experience the song. This particular song got a direct release in the film, though felt like a background music, but that impact & essence was pellucid. Mohana- this ace singer never fails to impress with her golden voice & these sort of renditions. A sure shot spine chilling song. Nothing more, just watch the film to experience the aura. Kasarla Shyaam deserves an Oscar for such awesome lyrics. Every phrase was thought provoking. Great work by the team.
Singer "Mohana Bhogaraju"

Picks Of The Album: Antha Ishtam, Laalaa Bheemla, Oo Sandamavva & Dum Dum

OVERALL RATING: 8/10
