'Sita Raamam' an upcoming Telugu film starring the Malayalam superstar 'Dulquer Salmaan' as 'Lt. Raam' & 'Mrunaal Thaakur' as 'Sita Mahalakshmi' brings a new beginning to Telugu cinema. The film appears fresh & clean with lot of retro elements added to it & with support of star-studded cast too.

Sita Raamam marks DQ's second Telugu venture & also film is dubbed into Malayalam, Hindi & Tamil too. Hanu Raghavapudi known for his typicality in taking films, comes back with yet another new concept with '1965- A love story' & 'Yuddhamtho Raasina Prema' as hook lines for the film. He says it's a classic love story with war as a backdrop & the promotions from the film's unit being on top notch & advertised alot about their film. So, let's not talk much but wait & see the result. Releasing on Aug 05, 2022.
As the film falls onto a old school genre, same is with the music composed by Vishal Chandra Shekhar. Album has 09 songs & one instrumental & a promotional track - which is really a very huge number for contemporary films , but let's directly jump in to fare the album.

01. Oh Sitaa Hey Raama

Vocalists: S. P. Charan, Ramya Behra & Chorus
Lyricist: Anantha Sriram
Rating: 3.5/5

This song for sure reminds me of many old songs, I went back to 80's era of Ilaiyaraaja. I find so many references of Raaja gaaru's instrumentation & music here, all those guitars in the background again remind me of Raaja gaaru's rhythm patterns, but no offence- Vishal made the song to his own credit & with his heart 💖. Song goes on with soothing vocals & it's a wonderful melody. S. P. Charan is the added attraction to the song, his voice suits too tee. Ramya is absolutely feeble & dull, though she's gentle, soft & sweet enough, felt like her version needed some more inertia to pick the rythm of the song. All the percussions simply wove magic. Excited to watch this wonderful tale on big screens.

Anantha Sriram is the only the odd one out here, his lyrics are not only mediocre but also have some grammatical mistakes here. ' ఒకరికి ఒకరు అవతామ?' what is  అవతామా here? It's అవ్వుదామ right??! All his tenses went wrong in the song, especially all those that Ramya sang had such idiotic phrases. Didn't expect such mean quality from ace lyricists like him. Overall it's an outdated song to present generation listeners, but it's a fair song for the rest.

02. Intha Andam ⭐

Vocalists: S. P. Charan & Chorus
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth
Rating: 5/5

One more soothing melody & this one has got few sublime phrases too. తెంపెర, ఉడిగము such words in Telugu songs in this contemporary world has created an air of excitement in me. Thanks to Krishna Kanth for such beautiful poetry. The song sounds more or less like a rhyme, but it works on repeats. The children chorale group sound too good. Vishal did nothing special, the lyrics & vocals take the song to a different altitude. His instrumentation is simple & neat. Charan at vocals is damn lovely,  enjoyed his rendition thoroughly, all his expressions give a special push to the song. DQ's act was already praised in this song, do I need to say any. That phrases "విల్లే ఎక్కుపెట్టి మెళ్లో తాళి కట్టి మరలా రాముడు అవ్వనా" ! I'll stop right there, you all know what it meant & what sort of spine chills those phrases gave too. Hatsoff to the lyricist, for such A class lyrics.  Overall I loved the song like anything, it's on loop.
Singer- S. P. Charan

03. Kaanunna Kalyaanam ⭐

Vocalists: Anuraag Kulkarni, Sindhuri & Chorus
Lyricist: Sirivennala Seetharama Sastry
Rating: 4.5/5

One more beautiful melody. This album is just of melodies & nothing else. However what else can we expect from such film' music, except some beautiful, slow paced & soft songs like this?! Vishal brought in all those 60's kind tunes but they sound too- too technical with tabla beats taking over the background. This song is fine, but it's out fashioned, don't know if these generation listeners will have patience for all this stuff. But there is no fault of the composer nor in the song, it's perfect, it cannot be any better. The vocalists just do the prerequisites, their excellent texture of vocals & expressions are something to note.  I can relate this song only to Ilaiyaraaja's numbers from past, it's like rehash of all his best melodies, but this has it's own trademark however.

If that's apart, this is written by late Sirivennala Seetharama Sastry gaaru & am emotional. This could be one of his very lasts & we cannot listen to such words & songs which are really special to all the telugu people. ' కిట్టుమనే చూపులే ' this one word & that's enough, don't even need the inlay card, one can say it's written by Sastry gaaru, such is his prowess. 'తరముల పాటుగా తరగని పాటగా' I think he unknowingly wrote those phrases & life was really harsh to make it a reality, that this is one of his lasts'. Am emotional right now, every phrase deserved a praise. The conversation between the lead pair drawn into such beautiful poetry & Sastry gaaru taking it to a different altitude with his kind of style. Surely Telugu industry misses such legend. Pranams to the legend. This song can be heard for him, & that excellent Quawali kind Chorus- they deserve a pat
Lyricist- Sirivennala Seetharama Sastry Gaaru🙏

04. Oh Prema

Vocalists: Kapil, Chinmayee & Chorus
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth
Rating: 3/5

This song lies on a boring side, though has no defect of it's own. I don't know why this song is such out synchronised!? Is it based on melancholy or romance?? I think it's on a sad backdrop but the tune indicates something that's irrelevant to the content. Vocalists just take away the rest of the feel, what's wrong with Chinmayee - she sounds too boring, all her landings had a problem. Kapil alien to the language, has no soul at all. Lyrics don't need any comment, they were too apt, crisp & perfect. Krishnakant did a great job, the first stanza sounded extraordinary. But this song could be made better in terms of music & rendition.

05. Eppudo (Letter Song) ⭐

Vocalist: Yazin Nizar & Chorus
Lyricist: Krishnakant
Rating: 4.5/5

This song is the introduction song in the film & also has the hook music that keeps resonating in the film whenever 'Sita' is around. What a typical love song right? Vishal has his trademark on this, felt like back to those Padi Padi Leche Manasu album days. This song will surely be enjoyed by this generation listeners. It has great music & tuning too. Yazin Nizar sings with his all heart & do I need to comment on his style of singing, as usual it's beyond perfection, his voice is a major plus. Lyrics of this song too are perfect.

A song about 'Letters' , probably the love letter. There's always a strange connection between letters & soldiers' emotions, in the past we had many songs on so called 'Chithhi' theme, but Hanuraghavapudi has really brought in a new version of Chithhi to this generation people & as of now this influence will not fade away in near tomorrow. I absolutely enjoyed everything related to this song, if you haven't heard - give it a try. This sounds great in all languages.

06. Tharali Tharali (Dance Song)

Vocalist: Sunitha
Lyricist: Krishnakant
Rating: 4.5/5

A semi classical melody in Vishal's style. Of course influenced from a yesteryear' classical number, but sounds damn great. Sunitha is the winner here, she proves her worth now. The way she can swiftly swing between classical to semi folkish expressions explore her sheer talent in singing. Great that she has got an opportunity here. I have nothing to tell about this number, though it's a small piece, it will make us loop at it. It's just perfect.
Singer 'Sunitha'

07. Nene Nee Nene (Prison Song) ⭐

Vocalists: Hariharan, Chitra, Sindhuri & Chorus
Lyricist: Sirivennala Seetharama Sastry
Rating: 5/5

Moving to the best song in the film. I literally had tears watching & listening to this track. Vishal you deserve all the laurels this year man!! 🙌 Proud that Vyjayanthi has chosen such unique content & hired all these talented people. I have so much to talk about this track.

It starts with a beautiful Saakhi sung by a singer Sindhuri, but she deserves every praise, her voice had the right emotions. The opening felt like 'Chod Aaya Yeh Galiyaan' song & the style of this song reminded me of 'Pardesi O Pardesi' from Raja Hindustani. Isn't that the genre of this track?! Yes, obviously! Vishal made us screw our hearts to this melancholic melody. I loved the way it's executed in the film too. A soldier in deep love & has a heavy heart & tears bleeding & then this song comes in the backdrop, who wouldn't cry then?!! Hats off to the team.
Singer 'Haiharan'

Lyrics & vocals play a constituent part here. Sastry gaaru has written something beyond brilliance, this is the second song in the album that he has written, this album, the listeners & everyone are blessed. The phrases " నేనే నీ నేనే గాలిలోన తాకుతున్న స్పర్శలో.. నన్నే నీ నన్నే పోల్చుకో నీ వెచ్చనైన శ్వాసలో" do they deserve anything less than an Oscar??! 🙌 Hariharan is back after so many years & definitely that voice is made for such songs & he rocked for sure. So, nice that he sang this track. He also sang the tamil version too. Chitramma, now-a-days whenever she sings, there is nothing that can even come close to her expertise & mastery in rendering songs. Her expressions in the song, just make the listeners weep in sorrow. She sang in all the three languages- Telugu,Tamil & Malayalam, who else could replace her in this song, so that's why there we go with Chitra Gaaru singing all the versions of this track. Am going in short of words, this song deserves my heart ❣️ Thankyou Vishal for this greatest number ever.
Singer 'Chitra' Gaaru

08. Ninnati Theepi ⭐

Vocalist: Sunitha
Lyricist: Krishnakant
Rating: 5/5

Sunitha gets one more beautiful melody & she should be really honoured. What a beautiful song is this! Vishal is piercing our hearts with his melodies. Lyrics do a great job. Sunitha's voice has the potential to create that magic of heavenly feel at the same time to give that instant sorrow feeling with her expressions & once again am left speechless.

09. Evarini Adaganu

Vocalists: Sai Vignesh & Chorus
Lyricist: Krishnakant
Rating: 4.5/5

'Inthandam' as a sad version & you all know very well, what this has done to the audience in theaters. Sai Vignesh,a new singer did a commendable job, but his words sounded much raw & accent lacked soul. And I felt like the Charanam demanded a female singer, "Aren't the words written about Ram by the lyricist which depicts Sita missing him too badly"??! But the instrumentation is literally of top notch quality. The Tauba beats & Sarangi just enhanced the song flavour. Vishal 🙌

10. Theme Of Sita Raamam ⭐

Instrumental
Rating: 4.5/5

Do I have to really say something about this? Whenever it was on screens it touched the hearts' of audience, that's a proof- how well it's received.

11. Ala Nemaliki

Vocalist: S. P. Charan
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth
Rating: 3/5

Just a promotional number & a reprise version of Inthandam song. Charan gets his third here!! Great! Rare feat for now-a-days singers in today's films. I loved the first one only, this is just there, coz it should be!

Picks Of The Album: Nene Nee Nene, Intha Andam, Ninnati Theepi, Eppudo & Kanunna Kalyaanam

Overall Rating: 9/10
