Aadhipurush Audio Review - Telugu & Hindi (2023)

Movie: Aadhipurush (2023)

Director: Om Raut

Cast: Prabhas, Krithi Sanon, Said Ali Khan & Others

Music: Ajay-Atul & Sachet-Parampara

Lyricist: Ramjogayya Sastry (Telugu) & Manoj Munthasheer (Hindi)

Music Label: T- Series

'Aadhipurush' being the most anticipated mythology of Om Raut starring the Pan-Indian star Prabhas as Sreerama Chandra & Kriti Sanon as Seethamma is something that's turning the times back to centuries where that epic has actually happened.

It's always a great feeling to watch or listen about the masterpieces/epics that India has ever witnessed, say either it be the great Ramayanam or Mahabhaaratham. And to talk about, it's always wonderful to watch that one particular verse about Rama & Seetha- the thrilling 'Sundarakaanda', according to the trailers & teasers- one can easily make out that they're talking about that particular verse or consequences in Sundarakaanda where the Lord Hanuman plays a vital role in taking the plot of epic forward.
Everyone is always fascinated about those epic stories, but getting a film version with a cinema scope, computer graphics, VFX extra boosted & getting in some fit actors to play those roles is a risk, because we all know those epic stories & attempting to show it once again by perfect balance - like the makers should be able to convince the audience with actors suiting their roles with apt disguise of the godly characters, second of anything shouldn't commit any blunders - as every minute issue would be viewed with a microscope. So, before anything would happen I'll commend the filmmakers for taking such a huge responsibility which involves risk. Hatsoff! And thank you for taking that initiative in telling those stories to our younger generation even before they 'believe that it is unbelievable to believe that it actually happened '!

Coming to the music composition, when the makers announced such a grand project I expected someone like Ilaiyaraaja or A. R. Rahman to compose the music, as we already know what they've done to such films before. But brining in Ajay-Atul, Sachet-Parampara lowered my expectations. And, as I already expected I was neither too thrilled or excited while listening to any of the songs lane down here. Let's review in detail.

As the film is simultaneously made in two original languages - Telugu & Hindi. So, I decided to review the songs in two languages. Majorly I'll be talking about the Telugu version, but will draw in the comparisons between two language versions. Album consists of 5 songs of just 18min 22sec duration! Strange I expected a big numbers & a lengthy soundtrack like in Lava-Kusa, Sri Rama Rajyam & all. These films need more music right? But, ok let's wait & see what it has planned for us. Sachet-Parampara composed only one song Ram Sita Ram / Ram Siya Ram.

Sacheth-Parmapara

01. Jay Shree Ram

Vocalists: Ajay-Atul & Chorus
Rating: 2/5

According to me, it's a mediocre song with those percussion arrangements, heavy beats & thumping drums. It's that group song which is neither a Bhajan nor a complete elevation song. Ajay-Atul bring the same old tune like their previous hit songs. I didn't find anything new here. I expected something like that 'Shendur Laal Chadayo' in Deva Shree Ganesha song which is a spine chilling stuff. But, I got disappointed with this number. Maybe I expected alot, but still it's an average number. To talk about the song, it's a simple song celebrating the great Sreerama Chandra's reign & his majesty, praising his bravery, charm, awesomeness & warrior-ism. Telugu, Hindi both versions appear same, no difference!

02. Shivoham

Vocalists: Haricharan (Telugu) & Ajay Gogavale (Hindi)
Rating: 3/5

An album without a song attributed to the lord of lords the Shivaya - the Adiguru/Adiyogi/Mukkanti in these films is a rare feat - so comes the Shivoham here. It's not the direct adaptation of the Adi Shankara Charayula vaari 'Shivoham' but is a bit inspired from the lyrics, whereas tune is a complete Ajay-Atul 's creation. It's a complete devotional track no deviations at all. The song starts on a very serious mood gets much more energetic & devine through the halfway & abruptly or quickly ends there. By the time you think that the song is really clicking on & you're getting that trance vibes, the song is done. I personally loved the Telugu version for the vocals from Haricharan & lyrics that have an authenticity. Ajay Gogavale is a good singer with high pitched voice & range but still cannot satisfy his song over Haricharan's.

03. Priya Mithunam/Tu Hai Sheethal

Vocalists: Karthik & Shwetha Mohan (Telugu)
Sonu Nigam & Shreya Ghoshal (Hindi)
Rating: 2/5

A romantic duet for Rama & Seetha?!! That too a very very normal song with just safe lyrics from both the ace lyricists. I don't even think that this song would appeal even with the visuals. We want something like Sri Ramalera like in Sri Ramarajyam when you think of placing a love duet between Rama & Seetha. We'll expect some sublime lyrics right? They're just below normal in this song like written for every hero & heroine in every other rom-com films. This didn't really work for me. Even the voices of Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, Karthik or Shwetha Mohan didn't save the song.

Ajay-Atul

04. Huppa Huiyya

Vocalist: Shukwinder Singh & Chorus
Rating: 2.5/5

A song for the Lord Hanuman when he's dancing in merry praising the Rama's greatness? I think it comes when the Hanuma-Sugreeva army is on a mission to build the bridge 'Ram Setu' linking the Ravana Lanka & the Bharath. I think the best version of this situation is from the animated film, Lava Kusa- The Warrior Twins. That song is composed by the legend L. Vaidhyanathan Sir & sung by the powerful Shankar Mahadevan. Expected atleast something close to that, but this is not even near to any other energetic songs. Shukwinder Singh saves this song to an extent but music composition & lyrics still fall apart.

05. Ram Sita Ram/Ram Siya Ram ⭐

Vocalists: Karthik (Telugu) & Sacheth (Hindi)
Rating: 3/5

An emotional number that tells about the feelings of Sreerama Chandra for his Seetha & Seethamma to his Raama Chandra. May hundred other songs might again be made on the same situation, but still every Indian heart wrenches at that juncture. Karthik the man with golden voice just made it a classic. A true emotional song that's so touching. Sacheth did well in Hindi, but my vote goes to Telugu version. 👍
Singer Karthik

Once there lived a husband & wife, who despite having an opportunity to lead a luxurious life & still choose the later & being newly married although living in an exile far away from their loved ones, some unfortunate incident turned their lives upside down & that resulted in separation & from which they never united. But, the love for each other's in their heart didn't get hush in anyways. That's the reason they remain immortal till date. Let's see what the film has for us in the store.

OVERALL RATING: 4.5/10

Picks of The Album: Ram Sita Ram/Ram Siya Ram
